1.
I`ve been in a few covers bands, but the one I had the most fun in was where I was playing music I grew up with. Go with Band 1.
This resonates... I'm just back from my audition and it was a blast! They're seeing another bassist next week, but the stars are looking well-aligned: the drummer and I support the same football team, and the guitarist and I were both playing white Fenders
 2. I'm just back from my first trip to Music Room in New Cross: expecting the worse having read about some other places mentioned here, and I'm glad to say I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend it.
 3.
Thanks! Your good luck obviously worked, as bass is now SOLD
Nah, I bet it was the photos
 4. I've practise unplugged a lot, and recently decided I'd to find out what some of the knobs on the bass do I generally find headphones uncomfortable, but was pleasantly surprised by what I heard when I plugged my iPhone earphones into one of these: http://uk.boss.info/products/tu-88/
 5. Lee Sklar's OK I suppose, but if you want to see Judith with a real bass legend...
 6.
But surely what your ears tell you is the only important thing? It doesn't matter what size the drivers are so long as you like the sound and it's loud enough for your needs and it looks sexy.
Fixed
 7.
Sadly Throbbing Gristle, Die Toten Hosen and Gut Bucket (my father's college band - they were all surgeons) have all gone, I'm out.
Although Sadly Throbbing is quite endearing...
 8. Has no one told you that West Ham don't play in white...? Or are you closet Tottenham fans?
 9.
I love HTML.
I preferred their early stuff.
 10. ^^^^ Some gems in there... now I want to form a band!
 11. Totally excellent experience buying Harry's GWB5. Fantastically-well packaged and shipped from NL. Thank you!
 12.
I find a J5 neck notches my ring ring near the nut
13.
There was a suggestion that Sloppy Seconds would work, mainly cos we're not that tight and do covers, but ......
Tarpaulin?
 14. There's a host of baby tropical spiders waiting to burst out of that.
 15.
Jellynote . Mousing over the first of the four large results makes a headstock with four tuners pop up which means BASS ! https://www.jellynot...+-+Van+Morrison
Ooh! I hadn't heard of that site... very interesting, thank you!
 16.
I see what you did there! Have three entries on me! I've entered, and my fingers are crossed for us both!
indeed, cheeky! GL all!
 17.
I like the look of a Fender headstock. Looks completely out of place (at least to my mind) on an acoustic though.
Agreed - and not nice on those symmetric double-cutaway semis either.
 18. Plenty of name generators out there: http://www.bing.com/search?q=indie+band+name+generator&pc=MOZI&form=MOZLBR
 19.
Willy Strong Punch
Although Strong Punch Willy has more of a ring to it.
 20.
To be fair this is not a criticism of 'Pino', he is a great player and deserves all of his success. But, when he has layed down a bass track does anyone put it into dots or does it just stay in his head. In fact are any top flight musicians 'fussy' about transcribing their work accurately, because I would be!
If the player isn't a reader they can only take it on trust that the transcription is accurate! Bit like an author in translation, I suppose.
 21.
This meant that I had to sit down and really listen to what Fraser was doing. What an education.
By a sad coincidence, this I just what I've been doing this week. Hats off, rest well.
 22.
Correct: http://www.musicnote...on_john&cnt=300
Dunno about Elton specifically, but a lot of retail "dot" music will have been transcribed after the fact.
 23. No cosmic damage? Far out, man! GLWTS - I recently got one of these and lurve it!
 24. Glad it served well! For a moment I was tempted to buy it back, then I remembered I've already spent the money: fretless fiver incoming! "GLWTS"
 25.
