1. Selling a Hipshot Ultra-lite D tuner HE6C It is the larger of the 2 sizes - the 11/16 suitable for Fenders / Stingrays etc. You'll need your own low profile screw because I have no idea where it went. These seem to be about £90 new (as per Axesrus site) so I'm after about £60 ish including delivery in the UK ta
2. Sandberg California TT4 Lovely things.
3. Used Roland Cube 30. Works great with a low B. I now have a tiny Barefaced One10 and Puma head which actually weighs less than the Roland, but I can't bring myself to sell it. It's too good.
4. Imperial! Bah. Right, I'll re measure with the wrong side!
5. Owen just bought my wonderful Demeter amp head. Easy and pleasant all the way.
6. The original Ibanez Weeping Demon has some similar controls and the effect is a bit stronger too. I've had both and I thought the EBS was a bit too polite for me, and the RRP is taking the piss. The Ibanez is massive though.
7. I've got a 300 and it's been brilliant. No drama
8. I have a Hipshot D-tuner that I bought ages ago and never used. I'm going to sell it (I have paid my subs - this is not a sale thread), but I can't work out which specific model it is. It's definitely a "C" for clover, but the rest of the model name??? Any ideas ta
9. http://rs276.pbsrc.com/albums/kk28/francofreduk/RIMG0025.jpg~c200 That would do
10. Sandberg have a 14 inch radius. Flatter than EBMM You can get a low action on any good bass, but when string bending the flatter the board the better.
11. I think this was mine many years ago. Signature is in the same place. Great bass.
12. B3K vote from me. That blend control is ace.
13. Cam just bought my Sandberg California TT4 Pleasure to deal with all the way through. Great to meet you, sir!
14.
How would it be with a Demeter head?
It's brilliant! Has that lovely lower mid sort of thing going on. (Depending on EQ settings of course) You know like a proper DB doesn't actually have a huge amount of genuine bass but the lower mids are really rich and full of detail - that. The One10 is my first choice cab for anything remotely orchestrally / old RnB / Motown.
15. I don't think the Barefaced One10 could cope with a loud drummer on it's own. But I'd love to see what a pair of them could do. I really like mine. Sounds very different to my Bergs. Different tools for different jobs and all that. It's not a cheap item for such a tiny thing and I hadn't tried any BF cab before, so I was a bit nervous about dropping the money on what I perceived as a practice cab - but it is brilliant.
16. I wouldn't say a Berg 2x12 was a small rig! I use a pair of Berg 1x12 and they are great - and I can take just 1 if I need it. For tiny stuff though (no drums) I use a Barefaced One-10. Amazing little cab.
17.
how much?
YOu could start with a cheap and cheerful Squier Precision and add the neck pickup with another output. If you don't want to spend money on the Dimarzio neck pickup you could use a humbucker from an Epiphone EB series - get one on ebay for £15 Then when you get some more money, change the P pickup to the Dimarzio Will Power. Then save up a bit more and get a Hipshot D-Tuner for the E string
18. Billy's own first one was just a modded Fender precision. He's done plenty of vids about what he did to it. You could get a cheap & cheerful precision and do the same mods to it
19. There is also the BB series budget version http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/el-basses/signature_models/bb714bs/ Could be easily modded for 2 outputs if that is needed. But it's not much like the proper one.
20.
Another anecdote but a friend techs for Cradle of Filth. A few years ago he said it was fingers crossed every country as you see what dual rectifier is provided. I told him I thought they were pretty much bullet proof (apparently a requirement playing some venues in South America!) but he said by the time you factor in valve life, temperatures, quality of flight case and age you've got no idea. So he bought a kemper, hires it to them and the sound is the same from São Paulo to Siberia.
I well imagine that Kemper and Fractal have been so popular with touring musicians because the units can fit in a suitcase. It might not be quite as good as the perfect "real" amp, but it's probably a lot better than a knackered version. A mate of mine has swapped his enormo-rack for the Axe-Fx and a Matrix power amp. He tours all over the world and as long as he asks in advance it's easy to find a Marshall 4x12 locally. He's got a pair of the preamps so he has a back up, and the transport costs are tiny compared to what there were.
21.
The one with the Piezo also had the woofer pickup, it's under the scratch plate. It was called the custom. Also had the cool neck joint
ah! Thank you. Didn't know that. Wasn't there a very limited 5 string with piezo at some point too?
22. Special Offer at £2250 http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Yamaha_Billy_Sheen_LTD_3.html
23. oh year - there is the SPECIAL which has the neck pickup but only 1 output, and there is a cheaper still version too with just the P pickup. The neck is slimmer too. And a Japan only model with a piezo as the P pickup. Never seen one in the flesh.
