That weight is for the 4 string. As I have two lovely 5s (My PJ-Ray and a Marleaux) I'm thinking about a 4 for a change anyway. I might even leave it stock this time!!!

I watched last night's game. Was the first game I've watched for maybe 15 years. i thought I'd give it a try. What a bunch of play acting fake injury nobbers. On both sides. Zero respect for the officials as well. "Privileged" to watch it, my giant fat derrière. If FIFA won't sort it then let the sponsors do it - would be very easy. Just put a mic on the ref so the players' comments get broadcast. The sponsors wold be very quick to put pressure on. And what is the point of endless yellow cards? Time for a 10 minute sin bin whenever a yellow is given.

It's still got way more bass stuff than Fractal and Kemper. So I'm not fussed about amp updates. But I'd like some more compressors and synths.

I did think about that - after all many upright players do that too, but I haven't got round to it. I've got some GHS Precision Flats on the way from the US so I'll give them a try when they get here.

I've been playing this lovely thing a great deal. I've gone through a load of different strings to see what I like on it too. One thing I've really noticed is that when it was just a P the B could be a bit crap with the wrong strings, particularly flats. The B would be flubby and not have the same tone as the other strings. D'addario Pro-Steels sorted that out perfectly but I still wanted to do a Duck Dunn thing for the big band. The new J pickup has cured that flub even with low tension flats (La Bellas). I suppose the J is just sensing the string at a point where string movement is a lot less. It's definitely not the Duck way of getting that tone, but I've got the J at full volume with the tone backed off to about half-way, and then I ease up the P to taste. "Shake a tail feather" now sounds bang on. Summer Concert is on Saturday and I'm looking forward to it!

Strings Direct, Andertons, Thomann, Amazon have various of their products - guitar strings / bass / uke etc. Still shown on Strings And Things distributor page too. Why do you say they went out of business?
