  1. Assume 25% on the item price and the shipping (unless you get free shipping of course)
  2. This.
  3. It's Register Office and not Registry Office. Alas the wrong one has become so common even a few councils are now using the wrong term.
  4. IIRC Vat has to be paid when an item comes into the country ( or the eu as a whole) for the first time. so even if it’s used it might get vat’d. and the 20% will be added to the item value and the shipping costs as well. Doesnt matter that that it’s a trade. You are just buying it with an item that has its own value rather than money.
  5. Is there plenty of theory and reading on the course?
  6. Before. As if it was loaded in the bass. Tried it with a B3K and the original AO so far. Liked it a lot with both. Interesting that the Bass control on the AO is actually at 80hz and the M81 is at 40HZ so low end eq-ing can be done very carefully between them. I have not tried it after drive yet. No doubt I'll try that at some point but my reason for buying was to have it at the beginning of the chain to avoid carving into my bass any more than I already have.
  7. It has arrived and I've had a quick play on it. It's very good. Super clean as expected and adds activeness to my PJ-Ray - and makes it easier to tame the top end as it is a bright bass - far more controllable than just a passive tone.. So far I think I also prefer it to the active circuit in my Marleaux too. Excellent bit of kit.
  8. Location? Headstock pics? Shipping?
  9. I'm sort of planning my next purchase. Has anyone got one of the new Fender American Pro series jazz basses? Any opinions? Are they actually better than the previous model that would save me a bit of cash? ta
  10. Speakon Cables.
  11. I’ve ordered one. Be here on Monday hopefully.
  12. AC/DC Live at Donington and Steve Vai live at The Astoria. Dont think there are any others.
  13. I'd have a proper look at the Miller versions. the EQ seems to have far more sensible freq centres. The 500W version is likely to be my next amp purchase.
  14. Thanks chaps. Sounds like a good bit of kit.
  15. I'm looking for an outboard preamp to basically turn passive basses into active. the obvious choice is the Sadowsky which is identical to the onboard systems on their basses, but it's expensive and it is boost only. I had not heard of the MXR until recently. I realise it is advertised as a preamp and DI box rather than a onboard in a pedal format, but some reviews suggest it is very clean and works very well that way. I notice the bass and treble controls have the same freq centres as the Sadowsky too. Anyone using one? How are you getting on with it? ta
  16. This. I play in a 25 piece big band with a load of noisy brass players. I often use a 300W Tecamp head and a single Barefaced One10. I only take the second cab when the audience numbers get to about 200. And even then it's for a better spread rather than volume.
  17. Right then. I need to make roughly £2300 to be able to buy a new lightweight 4HH Going to have to catalogue all the pedals and amps and guitars and stuff I don't use anymore to see how close I can get.
  18. It is both pointless and stunning! Love it!
  19. Yup. Venues tend to be sports hall type places with audience numbers of about 200 We've got 4 of the noisiest trombone playing flipers you ever imagine and I'm usually right next to them.
  20. I use 1 for rehearsing with a 25 piece big band. And 2 if I'm gigging with them and need more spread rather than volume.
  21. My local is a PMT. The staff are friendly. The choice of strings is limited. The choice of basses are limited. There's loads of cheap stuff but I'm not in the sub £1000 bracket. But when they do have something more expensive that I might be interested in (and it's almost always a Fender) they like to demo it through a tiny combo. The approach to other instruments seems to be better but I don't spend money on other instruments. Oh - and the parking is sufficiently far away that if I was buying an amp or cab or something heavy I'd need a sack barrow. They'd have to move the shop or get their own car park to make me visit more.
  22. I don't use their cabs!
  23. Yup. Eich / Tecamp are very strong in the mids. It's just annoying that the treble control does absolutely nothing as it is set too high. I still really like my Puma though.
