1. These guys used to work for Chandlers in Richmond, but have since set out on their own. http://www.richmondguitarworkshop.com/
2. Figaro - Brotherhood Of Man
3. Has anyone used one of these for a recording? I am currently in the studio making an EP with my band, and the engineer miked up the speaker of this little combo, while simultaneously running a line out from the XLR. I must say, I was quite impressed with the sound. I wasnt bothered about miking the speaker, but the engineer said it would sound great. And it did!
4. Didnt they change the Pickups from 2012 onwards?
5. I very much doubt you can find a true isolated bassline. A lot of stuff from the 60's were recorded on 3 or 4 track tape. The bass was probably mixed together with the drums and guitars.
6. Leave it and see how it goes. The effect might be barely noticeable.
7. Poor old sod has had his operation cancelled too.
8.
To be fair if I was selling a bass with those strings I would have put "needs new strings" in the description. Those strings are fit for no purpose than to prove the bass works IMHO
+1 I would have been none to pleased if I was the buyer and saw those rusty things glaring at me!
9.
Surprised it hasn't been mentioned before, try a Limelight.
Oh yes! Look at the quality of this! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/275912-nbd-limelight-dakota-red-precision-bass-1963-audio
10. The Jam - Sound Affects. The album that made me want to play the bass. Altogether now!...... Dum te dum dum dum I,ve got a pocket full of pretty green.

12. An interesting read. Apologies if this has been posted before. http://mikemillsfan.com/dossier-mills/interviews-mike-mills-trims-the-fat/
13. I used to play in a classic rock band and was told by the singer that my trusty Fender Precision was not "Rock and Roll' enough, and to get a Gibson TBird. I no longer play for that band.
14.
transmitter which goes into my right front pants pocket. Blue
You have a pocket in your pants? Wow! they think of everything in the US!
15. I replaced the Quarter Pounder that came as standard on my Nate Mendel with the more vintage sounding SPB-1. It really depends on what sort of sound you're after.
16. In my rock covers band, I generally only use a pick if the original song was played with a pick. We do some Thin Lizzy and Stuff by the Jam. Both noted for powerful plectrum powered basslines. I have always switched seamlessly between fingers and a pick. I must be quite lucky as its easy for me to do this.
17. Bassist. It must be the correct terminology...... Theres a magazine name after it!
18.
Currently £55 - went through a phase of being consider great VFM here - issues with soft frets? http://www.ebay.co.u...s0AAOSwa~BYaYB7
Yes. Basschatters were buying them up by the dozen about 5 years ago IIRC. So much so, they ran out of stock at one point. They were good VFM though. Yes the soft frets wore out quickly.
19. The mains power lead plug on my Markbass CMD combo is in a right difficult place. upside down on the upper rear of the unit. I look like a contortionist trying to plug the bloody thing in.
20.
If Johnny Cash can use one they must be acceptable.
Good. I'll dig mine out of my uncles loft then.
21.
Ouch, tough crowd! stingrayPete1977, maybe I should hire you as my agent!
Well done Pete! You've upset him now!!
22. I dont like jazz either. However, I do like Moondance. Apparently Johnny hates it too!
23. I always Jet was a Precision player.
24. Anyone know if Bill Puplett in Harrow is still there??
25. After gigs we tell the punters its £5 to buy one of our CD's or a tenner to shake our hands. Strangely enough, we dont sell many CD's.
