1.
Yes, there appears to be some glue residue on it. But nothing corresponding on the tweeter. There is a tiny bit of wire coming out of either side of the bugger which would stop it sitting flat on anything. Very strange, as I've said there's no discernible problem soundwise.
Hmmm...odd one. Could it have fallen into your cab and, is in fact, an interloping choke ?
 2. Simply amazing work, as per.
 3. Could it have been connected across the tweeter to send the low frequencies to ground...maybe glued on the back of the tweeter ? Is that an old glue mark I can see on the back ?
 4. AKKU Quintet, tomorrow night. Sadly I'm still deaf in one ear from a lingering sinus infection, but I'm sure it'll be great anyhow.
 5.
Q15 Do you so do any free gigs for good causes ?
Will they be sharing kit ?
 6.
The only thing the drummer has to ensure is that there's a hefty 'One...' from the bass drum (there's a stylistic exception in Bar 4, but that could be ignored...) right from the start. The snare fore-beat is good for accuracy, but could, equally, be skipped if it causes problems. It's the bass drum that needs to be on the beat, however.
Way over my head, I'm just the bass player
 7.
Should I just not bother and wait until improve my bass playing, then join?
Fortune favours the bold, as a Canadian character in a video game told me once. Good luck !
 8.
There are no hidden bars, nor 'slippage', it's only the drums that need to worry about the timing, as the bass, guitars and vocals are all keeping the same emphasis throughout, starting on the 'Four and...'. I've a drum score, if it would help..?
Aaaah, good...this is what I deduced. Not that that helps the drummer tho !
 9.
Ours was a musical family. Our dog used to hum in summer.
Boom tish !
 10.
No. I don't.
Me neither.
 11.
A quick search for Ashdown on the forum has turned up some pretty scathing opinions on the brand - the words 'wooly' and 'crap' come up frequently. Nonetheless, I will let my ears be the judge.
Do let us know how you get on - I've used ABMs a few times and straight away I've been reaching to cut the low end. Personal taste of course, but an Ashdown with a more 'tamed' low end sounds like a good thing.
 12. You know that bit in the Matrix when he learns King Fu ? It was like that, but imagine Rediffusion made the kit.
 13.
One pickup and a shed load of knobs?
Getting heavy in a chevy !?!
 14.
Why do people always skew these sort of statements one way? Why compare them against a back street garage rather than a well equipped workshop with experienced craftsmen (women, my last repair was done by a lady luthier a few weeks ago)?
What, you're expecting a measured discussion ? Naaah....we want a nice argument by the end of the page 1. It's the Basschat way.
 15. I though he was great in Mad Max
 16. Leave concepts like 'average' to statisticians.
 17. Firstly, welcome to the forum ! Good choice on the Claymores, Kent Armstrong do make rather good pickups. I put Claymore in a friend's bass and it sounded great. The two problems you're having sound related. May I suggest you gently tap the top of the pickup covers with something metallic with the bass plugged in and see if you can hear the tapping on both or just one pickup, and see if the controls make any difference at all. I like the body shape btw
 18. Lovely basses, good score !
Finished this fuzz off today. Some of my drilling's a bit wayward but I think the allover graphic came out quite well!
That's one Phar Out Phuzz, baby !
 20. I'm giving mine away in return for a donation to basschat or a charity of choice.
 21. Gotta love a black jazz !
 22. Lovely. I hope to be talking to Mr. Shuker soon about something for my 50th
 23.
Probably! I used to use an EQ pedal for this... rather than boosting across the range, you may just need to add a little "poke".
Agreed, couldn't have put it better myself.
 24.
You were right
25. Couldn't care less who owned a bass before me, as long as they looked after it.
