  1. Sorry, it's just my clickbait/instruction video impression. Want to know more ?
  2. Sorry, did I say fishing line ? Of course I meant my patented (ahem) ToneConduit music tether. Want to know why all the session players use it ? You'll be amazed at the answer !!
  3. This is how I tame the dive on my Jack Casady - the fishing line holds the strap over the front of the bass so the pointy end doesn't go south if left unattended.
  4. Very much so - one's person's comfortable bass can be another's ergonomic nemesis.
  5. Point ! Laugh ! 🙄
  6. I'd not buy an old bass back, but I do keep an eye out for a Fender Precision I (stupidly) sold in about 1989 - black and maple. I'm curious as to what happened to it really, so if anyone has such an instrument with a national insurance number scratched onto the back of the scratchplate...it may well have been mine. It's water under the bridge now (and I don't get on with P-necks), but I still wonder....
  7. I think it looks quite cool - in a Googie-stylee.
  8. I acquired my first Spector last week (courtesy of our own Psycoandy) - a very fine NS200/4. I'm very impressed, especially with the lovely narrow string spacing at the bridge which is very much my bag. Very comfortable to play, if a tad weightier than I'm used to, but a wider strap is helping that somewhat.
  9. No, I can't see anything but a bearded giant playing a normal-sized bass.
  10. Me neither, I though folks just wore them on frames round their necks, a la Bob Dylan.
  11. Brilliant ! Nice combination of ideas.
  12. A harmonica mounting clip
  13. Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome, Come On In!
  14. I do, but not in the way you're asking. The shame never entirely fades...not really - you just learn to live with it. 😢
  15. My 240's are rapidly dying a death...I'm just wondering if I can stretch to the DT770s Mind you, I'm used to how things sound on the AKGs, so...... Hmmmmm.
  16. My Mum's said she had a 'wonderful time' growing up in London in the late 1960s. I'm very happy for her

    Bass soul food

I thought the BSF was a bit 'tizzy' (for want of a better word) and I'll concur about it having something missing in the low end. I sold mine fairly quickly, each to their own of course.
  18. My Mum had tea with the Kinks. Just 'tea'....as far as she's ever let on
  19. Bought Andy's Spector NS2000/4 bass and he's great to deal with. Bass arrived very well packed and Andy kept me nicely updated. A credit to Basschat !
  20. Hmmm...I only really want xxxxxx, not xxxxxxxxxxxx, and I've nowhere to store the excess... Maybe someone needs xxxxxx, or perhaps two of you need xxx each and we could club together ? Drop me a PM...let's do this.
  21. Well, the same could be said of any subject on this forum. If we could only laud what people say and do, it wouldn't be much of a discussion forum !
  22. Wonderfully played. Not my cup of tea musically but still a treat to listen to.
  23. I heard you like hats....
  24. I've played in Tod a couple of times. I get the feeling they don't do 'dry' at all, or at least not at the gigs I played
  25. I've put high-mass bridges on all my jazz basses. They all sounded better after - no question in my mind.
