This is how I tame the dive on my Jack Casady - the fishing line holds the strap over the front of the bass so the pointy end doesn't go south if left unattended.

Very much so - one's person's comfortable bass can be another's ergonomic nemesis.

I'd not buy an old bass back, but I do keep an eye out for a Fender Precision I (stupidly) sold in about 1989 - black and maple. I'm curious as to what happened to it really, so if anyone has such an instrument with a national insurance number scratched onto the back of the scratchplate...it may well have been mine. It's water under the bridge now (and I don't get on with P-necks), but I still wonder....

I think it looks quite cool - in a Googie-stylee.

I acquired my first Spector last week (courtesy of our own Psycoandy) - a very fine NS200/4. I'm very impressed, especially with the lovely narrow string spacing at the bridge which is very much my bag. Very comfortable to play, if a tad weightier than I'm used to, but a wider strap is helping that somewhat.

No, I can't see anything but a bearded giant playing a normal-sized bass.

Bought Andy's Spector NS2000/4 bass and he's great to deal with. Bass arrived very well packed and Andy kept me nicely updated. A credit to Basschat !

I've played in Tod a couple of times. I get the feeling they don't do 'dry' at all, or at least not at the gigs I played

I've put high-mass bridges on all my jazz basses. They all sounded better after - no question in my mind.
