  1. Painful to watch. This looks like something a company might do after having imported something, found it's faulty and worked out it's cheaper to destroy it than pay duty/tax on it. Just a hunch.
  2. Very much so ! Or Fizzbin, if you're a fan of Captain Kirk's nefarious card sharkery. Ahhh, Soundcloud is it ? OK, I'll see if I can let that through my TinFoilHat browser setup.. which I do believe is indeed set to Samizdat mode
  3. As I can't see about 90% of the videos in this thread, it's a somewhat Zen experience reading it. Someone says 'What about this one ?', then there's some blank space, and folks suggest what the music was. Someone gets it right and then they get to post some white space.
  4. It's certainly very.....modern-looking.
  5. I heard some of it on Radio 6 last week, I think. Very good. Some cracking bass sounds indeed.
  6. You soxy beast, you
  7. If you like a light, airy tone maybe balsa would be worth a try. I'm not sure I'm the expert - many people have said that seeing my knob design lowers the tone somewhat.
  8. I'm surprised they didn't opt for wooden knobs...known for their more organic tone.
  9. Not that any comments to this effect have much effect on threads such as these, but I've loaned equipment at about two thirds of the gigs I've played and never had anything broken or mislaid.
  10. If I put shades on I look like the guy from the Protection Racket logo
  11. A lacklustre cheeseboard.
  12. True, but that's about not trying the bass before the rehearsal !
  13. Well if you're happy then that's great. Glad it all got sorted out in the end.
  14. I think it's a shame that people don't get involved with their instruments by doing their own set-ups and so on, but I don't think it's a requirement. If they're happy just sticking to to playing side then that's fine. Some folks don't ever open the bonnet of their cars and yet still enjoy driving them.
  15. Must be great to be able to see how the repair's going on as tech's working on it, that's really cool - the pictures tell a story themselves. How does the amp sound now ? Back working again ?
  16. Thank god for that ! I'm a fan of blurred sound concepts, but only on the second release.
  17. Arranging so the strap passes over the front of the body helps. I made a cats cradle to attach to my strap to make sure it does.
  18. Aaaah, Alembic....still hearing things are they ? They did do a lot of LDS back in the 60s....
  19. As a corollary, I can't slap. I'm not at all fond of the sound of slap bass, so I've never learned. Unless lacking a particular technique leaves you wanting, I'd say please yourself - call it your style if you fancy :)
  20. You can draw your own bass lines !
  21. Really interesting, thanks for posting.
  22. A fine pursuit, glad I could be of help !
  23. No problem....but I think you need to tell us why !
  24. It's definitely a Malekko Heavy Industry Corporation pedal. Very pink so maybe a Chicklet Reverb or an Analogue Phaser ?
