  1. via George Washington's Axe I believe. The Ship of Theseus, Trigger's Broom and George Washington's Axe....sounds like start of a pub crawl
  2. A bit like the Ship of Theseus ?
  3. Sorry, I think I should have stuck a smiley on my comment. Good on you for giving it a go at fettling the bass....I didn't mean to sound off-hand !
  4. It seems to me that you like the bass, but want to change almost everything about it. You should love it for what it is, or not love at all.
  5. :D Mine should be here tomorrow
  6. Didn't the NS2000s have 2-band EQ and the Legends 3 ?
  7. I think it is, yes. Mine's all been quite old and second-hand (I never had the money in the heyday !), so it was all made before they moved production overseas.
  8. I've got/owned some Trace Elliot stuff, but it's tickled me more that they were made in Essex (like me) than British per se.
  9. Thanks, I'm still buzzing to be honest - I've not played a gig that went so well in many a moon.
  10. Yes, indeed....sympathies.
  11. I played a gig last night. Yes, I'll give you a few moments to compose yourselves...I do actually gig Bit of a special occasion - an old friend of mine from university days reformed our old band for his 50th birthday party. I'd lost touch with him until about 2 years ago and I'd not seen the other guys at all for about 30 years. No one could locate the drummer so the birthday boy's brother was sitting in. We did two practices with drum machine tracks over the last year or so as the drummer's been away...drumming. So Saturday afternoon's rehearsal was the first time we'd all played together properly, which went very well...thankfully ! As did the gig, absolute blinder, everyone played fantastically, the crowd loved it (and I got to play through my big rig, which hasn't ever actually been gigged so far...it sounded awesome) I loved every second of it, especially playing with a really good drummer, which I've not done in far too long. He was very complimentary about my playing, which was very sweet of him...it's not often I get told by a Mercury Prize-nominated jazz drummer that I'm doing the right thing
  12. /Jumps to feet, bursts into applause/ Maestro ! Maestro !
  13. I know...it's put a whole new meaning on 'going down'.
  14. I'm still blind in my left eye.
  15. Psssst. Look, nobody tell Ped we've all seen it, OK ? Just keep it quiet. What ? What ? Oh....he's...he's right behind me isn't he ?
  16. I'm sure we'd be amazed by the answer !!!
  17. Just to agree with the above - it's BS. I got one - they have film of me on dodgy sites they said, filmed me on my webcam they said. They didn't say how that managed to film me through the thick stripe of insulation tape over my laptop's webcam that's been there since I bought it but hey, those hackers eh ?
  18. A good cheeseboard.
  19. I turned the TV on to see some of the Cure's set, for old-time's sake. I'm impressed - they seem to have a bit more gusto than previous years I've seen them on the telly.

    EBS Micro Bass 3!

    Hmmmm.....sockets.
  21. Looks good. Smart idea maybe trying strips if it does get wrinkled. Look at you, all "life hack" 'n stuff
  22. Here's why - it's a little know fact that instrument strings are right poseurs, very particular about their appearance and refuse to appear in public without the appropriate neckwear...and a silk cravat does the job admirably. There - don't tell me your day isn't just a tiny bit richer now that you know that. No, really....your thanks is enough.
  23. Nice idea - be interested to see how it works out.
  24. A modded Bond Electraglide ?
