i've got a the aforementioned johnny shredfreak and also a bog-standard maplins 'block'style psu. to be honest i've found the switching supply from johnny shredfreak a little more prone to mains noise on-stage, but there's not a lot of difference in my mind. the switching unit is a lot smaller, so if space is a premium, it's deffo an option.

i wouldn't even contemplate practising anywhere other than a studio at band volume/with drums, especially anywhere near people's houses. ymmv

i read that as 'fay' pickguard and thought of something like this...
