2.
How can you project an image of rebellious individualism if you don't wear jeans like all the other individual rebels? (I never wear them either - what a pair of rebels we must be? )
what you up to this afternoon ? shall we smash the state ?
 3.
Doesn't it get a bit drafty?
other trousers are available !

 6.
-1 Not in my experience. I've played with plenty of reliable and talented guitarists. Some of them even thought they couldn't play bass.
plus the one. it's odd...with the number of threads about 'guitarists who solo over everything, don't learn songs, etc, etc, etc, i wonder where they all are...i've never met one. is it something particular to 'rock' bands ?
 7. i used to have one of these units, and did find the vocoder tricky to use. as far as i remember it was mainly down to tweaking the levels of the mic and rear panel input so that the vocoder triggers correctly. sorry, i can't really offer any more help than that... good luck !

 9. it just means that the signal coming out of your bass will be of a lower volume compared to a bass with higher output pickup. effectively you'd need to to turn your bass amp up to get the same volume as a bass with higher output pickups. moe suitable for gigging ? depends how low is 'low'
 10. presumably whatever country's music he's ripping off this time doesn't have a tradition of basses.
 11.
Remember the days when Ampeg made quality kit? This is it.| <---------------------------------------------------------------------|
i thought i recognised the guts !! plues the one on the svp...great bit of kit.
 12.
Ive no idea, maybe they'res is a higher output pick up.
but isn't the switch is there to modify the sound, not just to change the volume ?
 13.
It depends on your core sound.
indeedy says the ampeg preamp man
 14.
Darkstar appear to be the only replacement ive found, they do away with the 3 way switch.
how would they do away with the switch ? do they have some kind of impedance switching themselves ?
 15.
Indeed it was, you were posting as I was editing
jinx !
 16.
I know there is at least one pwdal comp that will do the side chain. [s] I can't remeber off the top of my head which one it is[/s], but it isn't cheap. Edit for model: It's the FEA OptiFet
i had a look at that... not sure if it's just got the ability to put fx in the side-chain, or if it'll work with just an key signal in the return
 17.
Pulp bassist was a Sabre player, Quite cool and not much love for them from what I have seen round here? I wouldn't mind having a play on one.
shame you're not in london, you could pop round for a brew and a go on mine !
 18. i always play it with open strings...but i'm lazy like that.
 19.
How do you find the sound ? it could just be something completely different to what im used to playing.
lovely, simply lovely - i found it got more of it's 'own sound' when i strung it with flatwounds.
 20. i use a cable tie from the upper bridge post to the strap buckle - it pulls the bass into a nicer position. it also makes the strap run over the front of the body which tips it back into your body a bit. it's not ideal, but does make more comfy.
 21.
How do you rate these bridges?
i go to comparethegotoh.com
 22. i taught myself 'hysteria' as an exercise (i really can't abide muse as a whole - sorry) and yes...that boy has stamina !!
 23. very accomplished. tell ya what tho - if a saxophonist blew his hrony horn that far away from me when i was playing i'd be mouthing '"fook off back a few feet !"
 24.
I do actually have an ehx lpb-1 booster, I guess I could try that if worst comes to worst.
it's an idea, but the lpb-1 isn't a preamp with a flat eq, which is fine if you like the sound it gives.
