1.
I've fitted many a Fender/Squier neck to body and they all fitted pretty well. They're all standard sizes and have a 63mm to 64mm heel, which should fit the pocket of your body snugly.
That's one of the many things gifts that Leo Fender left us with.

I got mine from Maplins.
3. Carol Kaye books are brilliant if you can already read music. Also I got a lot out of Paul Westwood's Bass Bible - loads of different styles from around the world and a mahoosive groove library. Finally I love the Ed Friedland Walking Basslines books - great for getting under the skin of walking lines. Useful for )obviously) walking lines, but also great for making chord progressions more interesting in every other style of music.
4. You know, Immo, this thread is pointless without SOUNDS… when can we hear some sampleses?
5. Nice, might have to organise a bit of an outing…
6. That's a beauty. I LOVE SG guitars but can't quite fall in love to the same extent with an SG bass. Still, that is a beAUtiful instrument!
7. Best cure for being a busy bassist? Learn guitar, there's *thousands* of those...
8. Could do with a lick of paint on there….. Nah, that sir, is a beautiful bass. I bet it sounds the BALLS too. Congratulations on your aquisition.
9. Mmm, looks good. The 'Drive' sounds really useful too.
10. I had this the other week - check that the crosshead screw that goes through the machine head hasn't come loose. A quick nip with a phillips driver and it disappeared. Hope this helps.
Your 30w should be OK for pedal building - I use a 25w myself. I use a 60w for soldering to guitar pots, earthing etc.
This, If your iron gets too hot (60W etc…) then you'll destroy the bond between the PCB and the copper track, meaning you've knackered your board. If you're doing PCB stuff then I'd always recommend lead solder as it flows at a lower temperature than the lead free stuff. Doctor Tweek has some stuff on here that's brilliant. http://doctortweek.co.uk/shop/article_541/Solder-22SWG-(2-meters)---Low-Temp%2C-Fast-Flow%2Cproper-solder.html?sessid=23uqMJP6jhTe9LWNwSkQYi6XzMr3FYkKctXNf0r9iVSkCR4iYfINbcdBiXif9Ouv&shop_param=cid%3D19%26aid%3D541%26
12. Cool. Good luck with the sale though, I know it's a wrench taking a bitsa apart when you've got everything set up and playing great...
13. don't suppose you'd consider parting this out? That's exactly the neck I'm looking for…
14. I've got 'The Fool' and the 'Exquisite Corpse' EP, but not heard the new album yet.
15. I used to use a Pocket Rock-it. did everything I needed it too and it plugged directly into the bass too. http://www.pocketrockit.com/Page.php?id=0022s1b
16. If it had to be a vintage Fender then I'd plump for a '75 Jazz bass, simply because Jazzes are awesome, and it would be my YOB bass.
17. None of them, in fact I reckon you need a couple more! [gas]
18. Is that a coffee percolator on the front? Looks good though.
19. That looks superb.

21. Aluminium TeckPick ones. It's quite rare for m to use a plectrum, but these are the bad boys I always go for. http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/TECKPICK®
22. I read somewhere that the bassist for SOIA uses the Sansamp BDDI pedal to get that "grindy" sound. The Lomenzo Hyperdrive from Ashdown is great for that sort of sound. An alternative (and my personal favourite) is the Dave Hall VT1 - lovely valve kit and awesome with a P bass.

Flea sound with. B2

Most of (if not all of) that album is a Jazz bass, so I'd boost the top end and scoop some of the mids out of your EQ. Unless you've fot a jazz bass, in which case just give the strings a real spanking as tou play the line; Flea tends not to take any prisoners with his right hand technique.
24.
This pedal kills the mxr phase 90 in all it's incarnations!
This. Maxon stuff is awesome.
25.
I had a go with Radio 2 country stuff the other night, on the grounds that it was likely to be one or the other of "both kinds" and quite possibly in "A" (good country key). Good fun.
Did you manage to turn goat's piss into gasoline?
