1. Hi what scale length is it? Any breaks, repairs, is it cased? Cheers
2. Here is a superb Fender Japanese Jazz Bass from the 90's - its a 'made in Japan' model and has the large machineheads and Fender 'block' stamped neckplate of the period. It also has the brass plate under the control plate and the 'earth strip' from the bridge to the rear pickup. The pots are the larger variety as opposed to the later 'mini' versions. The bass has a torti scratchplate and a nice black finish. The body has minor cosmetic finish flaws but is free of dings and cracks. It has the extra strap button on the back of the headstock and 'straplock' type buttons on the body (presumably replacements). With the exception of two of the strap buttons everything is original and works as it should. The chrome is in great shape and the pickups sound as a good Jazz bass should! Truss rod has lots of play and the slim vintage profile neck is excellent: straight with good frets, a low action and great finish condition. The bass is well balanced and although it is solid and has great sustain its not overly heavy at around 9.6lbs. I was looking for a trade but I have found something that I want so its now SOLD
3. It looks like they put the neck of a Kay on the body of a dead dung beetle

7. This is a two channel amp 400 watts per channel - http://cpc.farnell.com/1/1/37648-power-amplifier-stereo-2x-400w-da-800-w-audio.html I've used it as a PA amp and a bass amp - with an old Trace Preamp (now sold). It's in excellent working condition but has some minor cosmetic scuffs and part of the back of the case has been slightly bent. The rack mount ears are fine and the front of the amp, controls, LEDs and I/Os are ok. It is a heavy amp so pickup preferred I'm looking for £50 postage will be extra.
8. Soundcraft Spirit E8 mixer in excellent working and cosmetic condition, no issues. Comes as the rack mount version. Has built in power supply so no wallwart, a good quality reliable mixer. Specs here - http://www.soundcraft.com/products/product.aspx?pid=26 Pickup preferred as it is a heavy item but will post parcelforce for 20 quid UK only. Looking for £65. Pics on request as I can't upload them at the moment.
9. I played one of these at my local music shop. As I said earlier in this thread I have owned several Grabbers, a G3 and two Rippers, I won't part with my '74 Grabber which remains my favourite bass. I really wanted to like it.......Well I must say I was underwhelmed by the feel of the new reissue and it looks even uglier than the original in my eyes, a bit like comparing a 70s Marauder to a Les Paul Goldtop. It did sound good though with a lot of tonal variation and the build quality was decent with a classy sunburst finish and a satin smooth neck. I have got to say I didn't think it justified the price though, there are many cheaper basses out there that are built to a similar standard for a lot less ££££ - although having the brand name will mean it should hold its value. Gibson have had a fair share of ducks though - Gibson Corvus anybody? Obviously it all boils down to personal taste and budget. If I were looking for a modern take on the Grabber concept or a back up for my old faithful I think I'd rather have one of the Epiphone reissues.
10. You need to state a price
11. Thanks Clarky
12. Are the super silvers low tension like the silver slaps? Cheers

14. You need to post a price even on a trade as a rough idea of value. Also pictures will help us ID it especially details such as the neck, neck pocket, routing, etc.
15. Mark bought my MIJ Precision bass, no fuss, quick payment and great communication throughout. Many thanks! Ash
16. That's not Roger Newell in the picture though! I've met Roger when he was touring with Jet Harris and also when he edited Bassist Magazine - lovely bloke and a great player ( I think he played a Wal triple neck when he was in Rick Wakemans band).
17. He had a Modulus Jazz and another Ibanez with some nice flaming on also, they sold, I was looking at the Jazz but decided to be sensible!
18. ....................................gone!
19. Oh yes the Burns connection is true enough - still a tad on the dear side for me though.
20. I think he's using the Burns connection to push the sale - looks like a Fenton Weill to me very interesting and fairly historic old bass. I had a more restrained Weill design bass and it played well enough. The asking price is a bit optimistic in my opinion. Some info here - http://www.vintagehofner.co.uk/britamps/fenton.html
21. I have a first issue JV Squier P Bass sunburst, rosewood board it has an extra p bass pickup routed at the bridge. Lovely neck, nice sen woods, etc.
22.
Hi Ash, I know how good the Jap Squires are but it's not for me. Thanks. Evil Undead, I had to google that....I'm embarrassed ;-)
No problem So did I
