10.
Did you ever do anything with the Hondo project I sold you in Preston mate?
I sorted it out and then flogged it on if I remember correctly, I can't remember too many basses too long ago!
 11. Its a 40/40 in the picture - Modulators had interchangeable control modules and a slightly different shaped body. This is a Modulator
 12. You could get a Hayman 40/40 basically a Marathon with two split Precision pickups - they are becoming quite rare though so be prepared to pay £400+++ Like the Shergolds they have great necks - Shergolds were initially made up from old Hayman stock by the way.
 13. Selling this nice old Japanese made Squier Precision neck from the late 80s early 90s (P prefix serial number). It's in excellent condition with original tuners, nut and string tree. I will include the original neck plate and screws also. These are great necks with a slimmer profile than later models. Measures just under 64mm at body end, a tad under 41mm.

 19.
£200 cheaper than the one that was on last week. I thought the chap who made them actually left Gordon Smith to set up on his own.
Yep that's true he did - they tend to turn up regularly at optimistic prices. Good luck to the seller if he gets the price he is asking.
 20. It's actually a post Gordon Smith Gordy Blueshift. They are very nice basses but I think this is a little overpriced for such a niche instrument. They made headless basses too - similar to Status. There is a thread on here about them somewhere. Edit he actually gives the link in the listing.

 22. Very sad vastly underrated player from one of the best bands.
 23.
Did it really? My perception of HMV was that it catered to a completely different market to the independents.
Maybe specific to my area however the two small independent music shops and the secondhand vinyl/cd exchange all closed within months of HMV appearing. The main record shop was a small one man operation that catered for all tastes. HMV did it bigger....and cheaper. Andy's Records also lost out several years ago although they were a 'chain' they sold some pretty obscure stuff. It's good to know that Electron Records - opened in 1946 - in my old stomping ground of Burnley is still going strong, still family owned and importing all kinds of esoteric records as well as mainstream stuff. Apparently John Lennon bought a few discs from there back in the days before the Beatles got really big.
 24. I have mixed views on HMV; sad that people have lost their jobs and for those who bought vouchers as gifts in these times of austerity. Choice was woeful in my local branch much to the disgust of many of those who both shopped and worked there. The fact that HMV was calling itself a 'specialist retailer' but ended up selling mobile phones, games and iPads showed how it had lost its way. The notion it has become a dinosaur has been argued elsewhere. It's also worth acknowledging the part it played in closing down many smaller retailers by its huge purchasing power in not so distant times. I hope it allows the small independent shops to get back a bit of that lost business.
