  1. Report it using the name Mr Hall and see what happens then
  2. Steel or nylon/gut strings? You could go for a magnetic pickup - like a Schaller, or a transducer type like a Fishman. I made a magnetic one for my double bass out of an old Squier P bass pickup. There's a guy on eBay selling pickups that clip into your bridge for £18! So you can experiment without having to dig into your pockets too deeply.
  3. Yes they are extremely light and portable, I'd see if you can get it for less if I were you, let me know if you do get it I'd like to know your thoughts. I would've liked to try mine with those black nylon coated strings but I never had the opportunity.
  4. Hi John, I had one for a while, they are quite nice but the short scale is less forgiving than the longer EUBs - the Fishman was a pain because of the feedback so I had to use a graphic eq as a preamp. The bass itself gives a fairly authentic upright tone when eqd properly and it's nice and light. Mine was an early one and didn't have a truss rod so the neck started to bow but I don't know about this one (I think I know the one you are looking at). I got mine very cheaply as it needed work. It certainly got me into playing the DB but I sold mine on. Hope that helps.

[/quote] Yes two Precisions and an amp ! Nice bass by the way Russ.

  7. It went for £488! I think they played a shrewd auction with this one, I hope whoever gets it isn't disappointed. I bought a mint one last year for less than that which I sold on.....for less than that.

Hi there were Allen keys with mine in the box for the truss rod and the bridge. Yes it's a lovely bass and if I hadn't just got me a Stingray I'd keep it but its one in one out these days!

  18. A great guy to deal with enjoy the P bass Stu!
  19. UK custom made bass guitar from luthier Doug Wilkes. The bass has a Dimarzio pickup and Schaller machineheads. The original bridge has been replaced. The bass has a lovely slim neck and plays really well with a low action. The pickup is a passive Dimarzio with a coil tap switch and simple volume and tone control. One of the pots was replaced as it was failing and the jack rewired. The bass has a good tonal range. There are a few dings to the finish and the back of the neck shows the typical play wear of a gigged workhorse there is no structural damage. I would prefer pickup in person but will wrap it well and post it within the UK at cost. The bass weighs around 9lbs and is comfortable to play over long sessions. A great British bass SOLD!
  20. What put me off bidding was the position of the bridge saddles, I had a bass where the saddles were like this and the bridge and neck were badly aligned, it was an expensive bass too but intonation was awful. Good price and I hope I'm wrong.
  21. Trade you for my Fender Bullet B30!
