2.
Are you sure about that?
It looks like a Dimarzio replacement. If so they can be altered around the underside area that fits in the original cavity by carefully filing down the 'potting' tar-like material that surrounds the pickup assembly at the rear. I had to do this on one of these pickups to adjust it to fit in the cavity of an SG bass. Worked a treat no extra routing necessary and no problem to the pickup.
 3.
Love it! Wish I had a trade. Fantastic bass for £250.
there's always your Grabber!
 4. Yes we are in touch!
 5.
A rather nice John Birch starting at £599. Marked for death with the R word in the title though... Oops... Edit for the link! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-John-Birch-Custom-made-Bass-1970s-Not-Rickenbacker-/321038028156
Gone and I had my eye on that!
 6.
No it isn't. Ash... why didn't you put this one up first, dude?
Sorry Mark but that Precision is a beaut!

 9. Still looking for Tele bass type trades or sale
 10.
It is £500 plus courier charge unless collecting in person.
Nice bass - probably best to match your price with the one elsewhere on the site - cheers.
 11. Is this the one you sent me pics of ? If so it looks like you are willing to post now and does the price include postage as your ad in the classified section is a bit less - assuming its the same bass of course? Cheers
 12.
aahh sorry i thought you meant the fender logo.. my apologies... i had an MIJ in surf green, was a great bass... but it wasnt the higher spec 62 as this is.....
No apology necessary my original description of the plate was a bit vague
 13.
i believe this may be one of the USA pickup 90's model MIJ RI's... tell tale signs are the big plate tuners and the strap button on the back of the headstock... bit confused about the fender stamped neck plate though... these are fantastic fenders....
The neck plate has 'FENDER' stamped on it at the top of the plate in capitals, similar to the exploded view of the blue Precision bass in Tony Bacon's 'Ultimate Guitar Book' and also The Haynes Fender Bass Manual (I think!). My brother-in-law has an '88 MIJ Strat with the same style plate. Great quality bass this though!
 14. You should buy it and put one on it then
 15. Nut width is 43mm
 16. Thanks mate - to be honest would prefer a trade, its a great sounding bass for the dosh!
 17. Hi I'm looking for a trade on my Ibanez ATK bass, its a four string Fuji-gen Japan made model and dates from 1995 according to the serial number. The bass is in very good condition with a few dings but nothing 'orrible, truss rod turns as it should and the neck is lovely with a low playing action. It has a simple volume, tone and coil-tap switch arrangement. It has a great punchy sound and is surprisingly versatile. It has a maple board, schaller licensed tuners and string through body bridge. It's actually very light for a large bodied bass. I'm looking to trade for a Squier CV Precision - the 50s version with the Tele type headstock. I'd also add some cash for a Tele bass modern player or Sting/50s reissue....although I know its a bit of a long shot! Judging by average prices its worth around £250 - which ain't bad for a good quality name MIJ bass! Also interested in a Squier Telecaster Bass ( the humbucker type ).
 18. Is the Dimarzio still available? Can't PM from the old iPad so could you pm me please?
 19.
So this is short scale?
No the 2030 has a longer scale like the 3001 - I think the only short scale commercially available Rick was the 3000
 20.
Is this basically a twin pickup modern looking 3001?
I've owned both a 2030 and a 3000 which are both bolt on neck basses, though the 3000 has a short scale, the feel is similar to the 'Hamburg'. The 3001 had a longer scale and I believe a through neck, the body shape is very similar to the 2030 as you have pointed out. The 3000 had a great feel and sound and I really regret selling it The 2030 had a superb neck and a very versatile range of useable sounds however it was extraordinarily heavy, in fact the heaviest bass I have ever owned! My back doesn't regret me selling that one
 21. I prefer the old ads as I like the conversation it generates, you can learn a lot about instruments you are unfamiliar with too. Several people have talked about subs and I think this could be a way forward. I would imagine a tiered structure would be difficult to administrate.
