Hey Lorry, I plumped for a sandblasted crimson P-bass a few weeks back, also from GAK. It was the first time I've bought a bass this expensive without trying it first but I have no complaints. It's the first US Fender bass I've owned and I'm massively impressed. Very resonant, pleasingly light weight but not to the point of feeling insubstantial. Sounds great. Here's some pics of mine (disclaimer: the colour is not quite as garish as it appears in these pics, at least not to my eyes, although I think some people will find them garish either way )

Was looking to buy one of the Fender FSR swirl finish strats thomann have for sale. Sent them a quick email to see if the image shown was the actual instrument for sale or a stock image. Received a quick reply stating it was a stock image and that they had quite a few in stock. Asked if it was possible to take a few quick photos of a few of them so I could choose the finish I liked best and was told this wasn't possible and that they could take a picture of one. Didn't think my request was too unusual for an instrument where the finishes are highly variable. End result, Thomann lose a sale. Had a mixture of dealings in the past but on the whole most have been positive.

Cheapest way at the time of getting a jazz body, P-neck, spb-3 equipped, thru body strung bass. And good choice of colours. Still fancy getting my hands on a shell pink one at some point if one pops up in good condition. I like the finish on the Clayton jazz, but it doesn't seem to have that many unique features compared to a US standard.

Yep definitely excited by this. The Angel Dust and King for a Day albums were listened to a lot during my formative years. Can't wait

The necks on the Squier J Mascis are really great. I echo everything that has already been said regarding the quality and non standard pickups/bridge. The VM Jazzmaster is a great instrument in it's own right. The pickups sound great to my ears and set up with a bit of care the bridges are fine. You have to kiss a lot of frogs though to find the gems. I tried a fair few before finding one that was well built, had no finish flaws and sounded great. Although maybe I'm a bit too picky when it comes to this. A lot of the ones I tried that had problems could probably have been solved given a good set-up.

BDPG ordered to join my Rat tail and Stache. Can't wait to get it on the board.

Think he said on fb he'd be taking orders until Saturday but I'll email him now to be sure before getting my hopes up

Thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these to join my Stache and Rat Tail. Just need to decide on whether to get the regular artwork or go kid-painted.
