1. If I can get one for £477 then my gear buying abstinence is knackered. Won't pay any more than that though.
2. The pricing of these (currently pre-order in the UK) is erratic, looks like stores are trying to cash in on the limited aspect. £477 at Rubadub.co.uk and Gear4Music £619 at PMT and GtrGtr £709(!!!!) at Richtone. Has somewhat quelled my desire to get one. And by somewhat I mean totally.
3. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
4. I'm still in, having blocked all music store websites from the browsers on my phone, laptop and work computer. I'm now struggling though having managed to see some of the early Winter NAMM releases and earmarking at least one purchase I want to make. 😣
5. I'm grateful for your heads up, or else I probably wouldn't have bothered registering. It's nice when companies give something back like this when so many others don't bother.
6. This is the Blacktop Jazz bass from a few years back in 'Blizzard Pearl':
7. Hmmm wonder if that's the charcoal 4HH I returned. Edit: as they now seem to have one in stock I'm guessing it is.
8. Love it. Like a heavier 'Pulled Apart by Horses' The video is great too.
9. Win-win. Trying not to count my chickens yet as I half expect to get an email from Thomann advising that the estimated date is a mistake and it'll be 6-8 months not weeks 😆
10. Thanks for the heads up. I've just placed an order 😊 If GuitrarGuitar can get back to me with an earlier time for a replacement I figured I can always cancel it. Due in stock 09/11/2018 apparently. Update from GtrGtr: "I have just got off the phone with strings and things who have said that they have none in stock and none on order so a new one would be 9 or 10 months from point of order." Hopefully the Thomann ETA is correct. Fingers crossed
11. It was GuitarGuitar. Not the first time they've done this with cases/case candy either but to be fair they've made the return as hassle free as possible, which is more than can be said for some *cough* Richtone *cough* I've arranged a return. I decided I just couldn't live with it given the cost. Still waiting to hear on the wait time for a replacement. 😩
12. Yeah you're right. Such a shame because in every other respect this is a fine instrument but at this price point I want to be 100% happy with it. Thanks for your advice.
13. Yeah, wish I'd known about this before I bought the Fender one (this one https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_case_f_mustang_bass.htm ) OK case but way overpriced for what it is.
14. Hello Basschat people. Can anybody confirm what accessories come with these? I couldnt resist grabbing a charcoal sparkle 4HH recently when I saw one in stock at on online retailer, however it looks like I'm missing the MM branded cloth bag I see in some of these photos and there are no supplied allen keys or any tools for adjustments for that matter. I also have the pickup configuration sheet of a 4H model not the 4HH I bought. This isn't the first time this has happened from the shop in question so just thought I'd check. Also, the neck pocket on this one isnt great. I'm not massively well versed on these things but can I get some opinions on whether people think a loosening of the neck bolts and slight readjustment might fix this or have I received a particularly shoddy example (see pics)?
15. It's not. It's a full size standard mim gig bag, and therefore has a substantial amount of unused space at the headstock end.
16. Was the usual standard MIM gig bag with the plectrum shaped zipper. I quickly re-homed it in a hard case as my roadword Flea jazz suffered some nasty finish bleed from the same supplied gigbag and I didn't want this to suffer the same fate. Will take a snap of the original bag when I get home for you. Didn't have chance to take a photo but it's this one:
17. It was Kenny's Music. They only had the one though, which was a pre-order I placed last year when they were first announced. Actually ended up cancelling the pre order because I got impatient with it being delayed about 7 times but they were kind enough to let me know it was finally coming in and I temporarily forgot I'm not supposed to be buying any more basses. Nit had chance to plug it in yet but it feels great. Action is a little high out of the box but obviously I can sort that. Same level of quality as the roadworn flea jazz, as you'd expect.
18. I have one arriving today. Looks like the CITES issue is finally sorted.
19.
Football, etc was the reason why I bought mine after seeing Mercy play.
Yeah I love her bass VI lines. Definitely isn't helping my shell pink Bass VI GAS!
20. A couple of more contemporary bands who use a Bass VI in lieu of a regular bass that I'm a fan of: Football Etc. https://www.youtube....h?v=js77J5r5koA TTNG https://www.youtube....h?v=dCKXg2scb_s The guy in TTNG uses a Jag bass that he's converted into a 6 string Bass VI style instrument if I remember correctly. The P/J pickups definitely help with the 'bass' side of things when compared to the standard pickups on a bass VI in my opinion.
21.
I'd buy that one.
22.
i hope the other one is red, haha! Best colour on these. I wish they came in a short scale option, actually I wish all basses came in a short scale option haha
