Obviously depends on the type of music. Bands like Shellac, the Jesus Lizard, Cop Shoot Cop etc. All use this kind of bass sound to great effect.
listening to the song, and seeing the size of the pedal too, i'm 90% sure.... tronographic rusty box... sounds like jesus lizard bass to me, which is jazz bass and s/s traynor distortion...
I'm with Gaz. Sounds like the Rusty Box to me. I used a similiar sound (but nowhere near as beefy) here (jazz bass + Rusty Box) - skip to 8:10 in: https://soundcloud.com/ex-civilians/fixtures-fittings

Have you considered the Staytrem bridge? http://staytrem.com/JM-Jaguar-/-Jazzmaster-bridge-1
Do we have an ETA for the UK? I might actually have to go and try one of these... (shock horror!)
Not yet. Some stores in Europe have had stock though so hopefully we'll get them soon. EDIT: Andertons has them listed at £273 (available in 1-2 weeks)

Can't wait for these to hit stores over here. The neck with B&B looks amazing. Squier are doing some seriously good stuff at the moment.

The 'vintage modified' aspect of the jaguars and jazzmasters relates to the fretboard radius, which is 9.5" as opposed to the vintage correct radius of 7.25" apparently. I think the pickup output is hotter also, but having never played a vintage jag/JM I couldn't tell you for sure.

So someone over at the offset guitars forum has posted details of these, apparently due to be launched later this year. Street price of $349 So I'd imagine they'd be around the £300 mark over here. If they're as good as the recent VM models these could be great value considering the only other way of getting a traditional spec Bass VI is the MIJ models that seem to be around £1300 at the moment. Here's the thread for anyone interested: http://www.offsetgui...php?f=6&t=71490

http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/ might be worth a try. I know he generally has a good range of nitro paint available.

Looks great with the competition stripe. How does the triple bucker compare to a regular humbucker?
Well, IMHO, they don't actually at least go on tour again and/or release some new material, they might as well! And-as I've made fairly clear recently on here-I love that band!
Even though they were pretty open about reforming for the money, I was still hoping we'd see a new album at some point.

Please guys, It's hard enough to deal with this as it is.

Feel sorry for whoever is given the task of filling those boots if they decide to carry on http://www.spin.com/articles/kim-deal-leaves-pixies-breeders/

Just saw this on hotukdeals and thought some here might be interested. Amazon are doing a lot of the behringer pedals for £17 at the moment, including the vb-2 clone that's pretty well regarded (UV300). Figured it was worth a shot for that price even given the hit and miss nature of some of these. Sounds like your band 'mates' are taking the piss. Put your foot down (in a calm and reasoned fashion) and if things don't change find some new people to play with. Always difficult when you've invested time/money/passion into a band, but if it's not fun anymore (for whatever reason) time to quit.

I've been going back and forth on this too. Something in the back of my head tells me I'd be better off selling what I have and getting something custom made, but I can see me regretting it down the line.
Ah I see, one of the etched ones?
Older than that I think. Looks like this one: I like the fact that their a family business and from what I've seen Ry seems like a top notch guy when it comes to customer service. Well worth the 2.5 month wait guys
-
Ry would almost certainly add one for you if you could bare sending it back! Si
Mines only one of the single enclosure types, so not sure it's doable. If I decide to get a bigger pedal board, think I might look at getting hold of a rat king for it.
-
The rat tail is great. Pretty versatile too. Wish mine had the second distortion mod.

*ahem* I have a practicaly brand new one up in the for sale section *ahem* General consensus is that Jag and jazzmaster bridges were really designed for gauge 11's upwards. A well set up bridge with a decent string gauge on and some kind of lubricant on the nut and you shouldn't have any tuning/rattling problems. I love my offset guitars.

Shame. NIN with Eric Avery would've been great to see. Wonder if JMJ will get back onboard.

http://en.wikipedia....cave_%28club%29 Saw that ad this morning and thought it was refreshing to see a young whipper snapper whose idea of goth doesn't begin and end with marilyn manson. Good luck to them.

Thanks for the bumps guys. Looking for a straight sale I think with this Damon due to space issues. This p-bass sounds just like my hoppus (same spb-3 pickup) but also has the varitone circuit for more tonal flexibility if needed. I just really find the jazz body shape more comfortable hence why I'm selling this over the Hoppus.
