  1. What's the logic behind this? I have always preferred the sound of front ported cabs - much more trouser flapping bottom end spilling out the front of it and no issues with boominess when placed beside a wall etc.
  2. HI all Does anyone have that WinISD program who could spec me some new drivers for my 4ohm Aguilar DB410 cabinet? The stock drivers are rather poor, a couple are rattly and I think I will replace all four. The Aguilar replacements are both hard to source and expensive so I would be interested in alternatives from reputable speaker manufacturers. Thanks in advance! Danny
  3. A P Bass is a P Bass. Mas Hino seems to have learned from the mistakes of the earlier Olinto builds which were £3k dogs.
  4. One of the under utilised features of the Stomp (IMO) is the pitch shift. I have some patches set for -2 and -3 semitones for songs where my band drop tunes, and I am able to maintain my standard tuning and string setup. The tracking is immense also and the tone is perfect!
  5. I use regular 45 to 105 for Drop C with no issues - the key is in the setup.
  6. Brill strap! Best I have ever used. The Maruszczyk leather straps are also on my list.
  7. This is almost as bad as the time Bass Direct sold a 1973 Jazz Bass with an aftermarket body
  8. Ghost are probably my favourite metal band since Metallica. Absolutely fantastic
  9. Just got a Gruvgear Solostrap Neo 4" - without a doubt the best strap I have ever used.
  10. I have to say I have never noticed the weight of a bass ever and feel lucky that this isn't a consideration of mine.
  11. +1, nothing like proper heavyweight bass instead of these in car audio systems

  13. At least those are consistently not over the pole pieces and therefore consistent in tone across all strings - not haphazard like most 'rays. The G always sounds good in demo videos but try a 'ray in a band context and the G is almost completely redundant without major EQing or extreme pickup balancing. That said, they did address this issue with the Stingray Specials.
  14. Disappointed that EBMM have dropped the ball again with the pickup alignment on this. The G string looks way off. They had sorted this too on the Stingray Specials etc. Hope Joe Dart doesn't mind a bit of weak G in the Vulf stuff!
  15. I guess I would expect perfection when spending the kind of money that these basses cost. Endearing imperfections are for woodshop builders, not professionals.
  16. I see they still haven't sorted out the alignment issues with the strings/pole pieces. The D and G pickup rout was drilled around a centimetre out of goose by the looks of it.
  17. Really the only things that would mark this as a genuine 62 are the neck plate and clay dots. How else would you tell with the amount of work that has been done?
  18. The burst doesn't look very 1962, also it would be very rare for a nitro finish to withstand 60 years of gigging without any wear! Also, thru body stringing on a 60s bass? I can't make out if there's a hole at the back of the headstock for a strap button - or if it's just the wood grain. A 62 should have this button
  19. Ashdown customer service is the best in the business. Mark and Guy are the reason I buy Ashdown!
  20. Hi all Just wondering if anyone knows if the Sire J Bass control plates are the same dimensions as the standard Fender size? Thinking about buying one and converting it to fully passive with a new plate and loom. Hopefully someone has done something similar in the past. All advice appreciated! Thanks Danny
