    I was lazy and didn't notice the screw head loosening over time - bass fell off mid gig once! Decided that day to switch to Dunlop Straplok exclusively on all my basses - safer for an idiot like me

    For your delectation is this fine USA Fender P Bass in Sunburst with a Black Scratchplate and a Maple neck. Year is 2003, got it in a trade last year and it hasn't been out of the case since, as I play a Jazz mostly! All the usual USA Fender loveliness including thru body stringing option and lightweight tuners. There is one small chip on the upper bout where your arm rests - this is visible in this first pic but happy to take more detailed photos for full disclosure. Comes with official Fender case and truss rod tool. I have just restrung it with a set of D'Addario 45-105 rounds which sound beaut and have set it up to standard Fender specs. ***NOW SOLD*** Thanks for looking!

    Let's leave the personal insults for the 'luthiers' over here in Norn Iron eh? 😂 Just giving my opinion on both brands. Obviously there are beautiful examples of both, but I have never seen a Shuker which is less than stunning and which looks like it hasn't been made in a garage, which I cannot say about ACG.

    AC Guitars look like they could be made in a garage by an amateur woodworker, whereas Shuker to me says quality. I would go Shuker all day long.

    They have a UK address in Romford I think - the price you see on the website is the price you pay, with no additional duty etc. However, they are a shambles of a company. I have been trying to return a faulty item to them for months and just keep hitting brick wall after brick wall. I would not do business with them again.

    Interested...long time Lo Rider user here too but was thinking of trying out NYXLs on my next string change. Why did you opt to change? I heard the tensions are similar? I'm a J or P Bass player here and play nickels only fyi.

    Two compressors is too many. I use either the Rochester at 4:1 ratio or the LA Comp, slightly favouring the top end on the LA recently tho.

    Thanks a mill! Yeah the live album was a lot of fun, a few fluffs aside lol! It was my dream to play at Mandela Hall when I went to uni in Belfast so I'm glad it happened before they tossed it. Definitely getting over to Edinburgh and Glasgow (Barrowlands) early next year - PM me if you fancy going to either and I can sort guest list

    I'll PM you some links I use the Stomp for most of my tone really! - High Cut and Low Cut EQ block (7khz and 50hz respectively - Rochester Comp set to 4:1 ratio - Zeroamp at about 50% blend, presence and drive quite high Then various other effects that are song-dependent, such as the legacy Bass Octaver or 70s Chorus!

    Thanks for your kind words! It was really enjoyable. Yes, it was a festival in a city called Derry over here in Norn Iron. Since gigs restarted we have done outdoors only with crowds varying between 1-6,000. Pretty fun! Here's a pic:

    Tried different power cables, extension cables etc etc on the gig and it didn't work at all, so it went back today!

    Bought a Cioks DC7 and mounted it underneath my Pedaltrain Nano+ to power the HX Stomp. Hours of geeky pedalboard laying out and cable management, took her to a big gig at the weekend in front of 6,000 and...nothing! The power supply didn't power up! Luckily I had brought the HX Stomp supply along with me, but hugely disappointed in the Cioks. I have asked for a replacement in case it's just that particular one that was faulty. And no, I didn't test it before I went to the gig lol, I just assumed a £200 power supply would work out of the box!
