  1. Im planning on getting a small, lightweight, short scale P style bass with the emphasis being on cheap with the possibility of upgrading the pup at a later date. Been looking at these two basses. Anyone have experience in using these for rehearsals or even gigs? Im also wondering if both have the reduced small-sized bodies. Looking for something to fit in a guitar gigbag.
  2. That is a work of art never mind a working instrument.
  3. Very tasty! http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=PX161208304893004
  4. Im guessing the bridge will be black too? Babicz perhaps? Love that pickguard design. Goona look killer.
  5. One thing that might be useful is which wood will be lighter. I prefer a light bass, especially if standing at a rehearsal for a few hours. Sire get great feedback from most users. Much more versatile than a traditional Fender I believe.
  6. Will these fit most basses with V/V/T configuration?
  7. Im still looking for a 32" scale lefty Fender or Squier P bass but on my online search I spotted that Fender Japan are doing a range of scaled-down basses called Smart Size. Think they are about 85% of normal bass sizes. Haven't seen a P bass but they offer a cool looking Jazz bass, but only one vendor has got back to me in dodgy english regards my search for a lefty version. Anyone on here played one or know of a reputable seller who can get their paws on the lefty version of either a J or P?
  8. Loving the matching headstock Andy. Superb!
  9. My 1A unlined fretless had a split P pup, three controls and two switches. I bought mine new in the early 80's and thought it beat many more expensive basses around at the time. Great range of tones available. However, most I would fork out for one now in good nick would be under £150.
  10. Love it. Often wonder where my early unlined fretless L2 has ended up.
  11. Bass looks great. Im sure a nicely reliced refin of that sonic blue over sunburst would look just as dandy. GLWTS
  12. I would get a lefty Sire. Thomann stock them.
  13. You could make the f-hole opening in the shape of a large swift like on your headstocks that would look cool. I have an Alvarez mini travel bass which i think is 27" scale. It is fitted with black tapewound strings. Bottom E response is questionable but overall it's a very playable little instrument.
  14. Me too
  15. Looks stunning! Love that fingerboard.
  16. Would love a Wal.
  17. Wowser! http://www.leftybass.com/e_start.htm
  18. Do Spector do the shorty in a lefty model?
  19. Excellent. Great to see the plaudits being dished out. Well done, that bass is a beauty.
  20. I would buy this if it were a lefty. Looks like a great fretless board.
  21. Great stuff.
  22. Watching this one as I may be a future customer to have a veneer job done. Think that's one of the veneers you emailed me pics of Andy.
