Definitely. Looks in great nick too.
It is an after-market anodised pickguard and having bought one from Fender for my formerly owned jap '57 reissue, I can confirm that these are flat-edged and not bevelled, being single ply.
The gold and black gives the bass a boutique quality and the body shape with that hollow chamber is killer.
Have you tried the look of a brass nut instead of black?

Love the hole on the headstock. Given the massive top horn carve on this, how long did it take to work out where best to put the two strap buttons?
I think you will be wanting one that can be plugged in so it can compete and have presence in the mix.
Also depends whether you're wanting to replicate an upright sound or not. Budget will also come in to play.
Plenty to consider.
