    I was looking at one of these on the Bass Direct website yesterday. Very desirable but unfortunately not "impulse buy money". Maybe I should contact Santa....

    Won't some of them need basses??? If there are too many basses on the planet then surely there are even more (too many) guitars on the planet. If we need to moderate the amount of wooden instruments lets start with them.

    How many basses are too many? Whenever I see this question I'm inclined to think that it's posted by a bassists' wife. Bassists would never asked this question themselves (unless they want to buy another).

    The Recroder is much harder to find though so may be worth the starting price.

    There seem to be loads of Yamaha 5ers around for around £300 - get one - loads of bass for not many pennies. Then you can keep this!!

    Tapewounds - they won't catch on. After all who would want a phat tone, hinting at a double bass sound, soft to the touch with sumptuous tension that you're unlikely to have to replace? Roundwounds aren't the only choice you know...

    £350 for a partial fret job??? I don't think my local Luthier charges that much....Lozz??? (he uses the same fella)

    I craved one of these years ago when I had my Dolphin..... Then I liaised with Warwick's Customer service Dept and realised what a bunch of cants they are.... Still a very nice bass though.
