  1. Don't own one at the moment actually! I've lost about 10 in my time, though.
  2. I think he's just having a laugh.
  3. Hmmm, sounds pretty good! I just hate the way Soundblox pedals look. Is that shallow?
  4. More details! Come on, are you trying to sell it or what? Scale length, colour, number of strings, thoughts on tone, weight, location, electronics, frets, JAN?, hardware material, country of manufacture etc etc etc etc!!
  5. Hello all, Getting started with an exciting new covers(!) project that'll involve me needing to have access to various types of grit and drive. I'm going to need something that can emulate a touch of valve head overdrive (a la Kings of Leon in the Come Around Sundown album), something that gives a little more pushiness kind of like My Morning Jacket in 'Anytime' but also capable of heavy fuzz to nail some Muse lines. I have an Octave Multiplexer and a Sea Machine for most other sounds and textures, just need a flexible drive to finish off with. I don't really want to have to cart around tonnes of pedals because it's too expensive and I can't be arsed to rig up a pedalboard and piss about with power supplies, leads and cases etc. I had a Lomenzo for a while but actually found it a bit fizzy and dry. Also had a ProCo TurboRat which I loved but wasn't great at low gain settings. Boss ODB-3 also I found a bit buzzy but liked the flexible EQ. I do have a Boss ME-20b, which is great but a bit bored of it now. I've had it for nearly 5 years! I accept I may well need to get a seperate fuzz and overdrive but wanted to see if there's an all-in-one option. Thanks in advance!
  6. Aren't lillies used by the mafia to show remorse for having to kill someone?
  7. An Austin 7 with original tyres would be worth a lot more than one that was exactly the same but had changed tyres. Same goes for all engine parts. Just because it doesn't affect the performance of the vehicle doesn't matter, you want a guarantee that the vehicle has not been used since it was built. The implication of originality is that no-one has used the thing! If you're in the market for an Austin 7, one that is 100% original is obviously going to be much more desirable and valuable. Same goes for basses. If you've got an instrument that is 100% original compared to one that is 99% original, then the former will be worth more. From a collecting point of view, of course.
  8. I like, really good playing and interesting enough! Just 3 minutes too long.
  9. [pedant] Technically speaking any cab could 'cope' with the TerrorBass because amps have things called volume controls. You simply keep the volume at a level that the cab can handle before it distorts. [/pedant]
  10. Snow by Spock's Beard is worth listening to. It's a bit of an overdone story (Young malcontent, cast away by family, takes drugs, befriends a prostitute, becomes famous, nearly dies, finds God) and I think they've padded it out a bit to fit on two discs, but the production is good, the band sound great and it's a bit of fun. Love Dave Meros by the way. He really does have a distinct style that I've only noticed recently after not having listened to Spock's Beard for a year or two.
  11. 8/10 Didn't know the Steel Panther one or the Motörhead one
  12. I love Quiklok stands. Great compromise between cost and performance. I have a pair that I've owned for about 8 years. No problems with them at all and they still look well alright. I also use Quiklok mic stands too and never had any problems with any of them ever in about 5 years of solid use. Don't get me wrong, brands like Hercules and Konig and Meyer make better stands, but they cost a lot more.
  13. A Grand Don't Come For Free is one of my favourite albums. A masterpiece! Year Zero - Nine Inch Nails also has a narrative throughout. It's the story of Earth in the near future and music and 'having fun' etc has been banned by a tyrannical earth government. What's interesting about Year Zero, is that it was supported by a series of short videos that showed Nine Inch Nails gigs being disrupted by heavily armed police and Trent Reznor being arrested etc etc. Apparently, fans of Nine Inch Nails were none the wiser and genuinely thought that they were part of an illegal gig. The gigs were held in warehouses and basements so must have been pretty cool for the people that got to see it. The videos were left in USB sticks hidden around venues and stuff and gig goers were urged to post them online. Very immersive and added a dimension to the album that you wouldn't have achieved if you'd listened to the album on its own. Can't think of another album that was supported by other media in this way?
  14. Will you be flying with your gear? If not, just buy some padded covers. Flight cases are a terrible idea unless your gear literally lives on the road getting carted about day to day. Otherwise, it costs a fortune, you'll never be able to sell it on and is incredibly bulky. Because of the weight of the flight case, you won't be able to carry it if you come across soft ground which means you'll need to take it out of the case, leave the case in the car and then dick about putting it all back in at the end of the night. Padded covers are cheaper, they fold away, are lighter, just as smart and offer enough protection.
  15. Does it work when its the only pedal in the chain? If so, it may be a power supply issue that happens when everything's plugged in. I remember having a couple of reverbs before that liked an isolated power supply.

  17. I tend to just tip everything out onto the floor and cry while I wished I'd bothered to coil everything nicely last time I packed down.
  18. Wouldn't a passive configuration get you closer to a vintage vibe?
  19. Looks awesome! Anyone know how much it's likely to go for?
  20. Love ISIS. Grinning Mouths is my favourite one of theirs
  21. Sell it. They're only possessions! You need money and it'll make things easier for you for while. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you'll miss it at some point but then you'll just get over it and move on with your life.
