1. Just wondering if the scratchplate and trussrod cover match?
2. I will not deal with him. On 4th January I paid him for a scratchplate. On 16th January I PMed to ask about it; he told me it had not been sent due to an oversight, and he'd send it. On 29th January, having heard nothing, I referred it to the moderators. On 30th January he PMed me saying it had been returned due to posting issues. I asked him to send it anyway. I still haven't received it, despite moderator input. Nor have I had any message from him since. Edit: I'll be happy to alter my feedback if he can provide me with some sort of credible explanation. Edit, 6th April: I received a PM from him, very apologetic and giving a reason for his silence, on 11th March. On 15th March he refunded me and said he had posted the scratchplate that morning by way of apology. Guess what? It hasn't arrived. Draw your own conclusions.
3. Thanks for this. Bill Lee changed my life in several ways. I preferred his stuff when it was harder to find; these days it's all rather industrial, "oh Burroughs wrote it so it must be worth publishing". Call me a snob if you will...
4.
Still here? These are great basses, look amazing too. I just don't need two! Jon.
Thanks Jon. If I got on with it I'd keep it...
5. Pink. Preferably dayglo.
6. Vox White Shadow was my first guess. OTOH I'm too ignorant to know if there were fives, or buckers...

Less frets
... I was thinking of a semi-fretless, with only frets 1,3,5,7,9 and 12. ...
Oooh... that's a really, seriously deranged idea. Good man
8. Friday night at the bumpies...
9.
More like a P neck and compared to a SR, big! In fact the whole bass is rather big and on the heaviish side which is why I got shot of mine. Decent sounding bass though for the price.
Hmm... Are the SR necks and ATK necks interchangeable, by any chance? <shameless threadjack/>
10.
Couldn't you turn it into a bird table or something, Chris!
RSPCA would bust him for it
11. I have the impression it's probably easier to find a second-hand Peavey Cirrus BXP than a Grind. Cirrus is active and the early ones (like mine, grrr) had a battery-life problem, but they are nice - fast skinny neck, comfortable, play well, look pretty (though the tiger-stripes are too gaudy for me).
12. What are the ATK necks like? I'm only curious, no GAS at all...
13.
Could be worse, could be tort.
This.
14. Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6. Not sure what the track is.
15. I read the headstock as "GR", FWIW...
16. I've been keeping an eye on SR300s here and on eBay recently, and IMO a good second-hand SR300 seems to go for £130-170 here. I think you should look at this though - definitely a good price: http://basschat.co.u...3#entry2355403. (And yes, I'm only promoting it to stop myself buying it... )
17. That's a bit steep for an ad with one fuzzy pic...
18.
This is the first I've heard of these but for £100 I'm sure trying one out!
Me too
19. SR300 gets my vote. The one on the rack is 38mm wide at the nut. It's thinnest behind the first fret; at that point it's about 20mm thick (not counting the fret). I don't know the Epi (I'm guessing not many people do), but that ought to give you something to compare with
20. I think I may have seen that before as well... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228660-ibanez-musician-1984/
21.
Royal Mail issued a new booklet of prohibited & restricted items in July 2013, with particular sections on batteries of most types with specific rules for Lithium, which are banned UK & International if not within an electronic device. Every parcel I send I'm asked what's in it & if there are any batteries.
The three or four parcels I've sold recently, I've been asked what's in them, but not about batteries. Evidently the training lags in some places. Either that, or I exude an air of confidence so compelling that nobody's going to ask me to prove anything...
