1.
It was me who won it Chuffed to bits in all honesty as I have been on the hunt for a fretless for the last few weeks
Nice one
  2.
(I also tip my hat to the Hawkwind fans who've piped up. Anything up to and including Warriors at the Edge of Time is a fine choice in my book!)
I'm for Hall Of The Mountain Grill. But I never thought Hawkwind were heavy rock, really. Still don't.
  3. Si and I sorted out a deal for my BBN5 and some other stuff. It's a pleasure to deal with him, as before, and I'm sure I'll do so again..
  4.
A couple of years ago, me and a few pals were in Poole getting drunk. We stumbled into a. Pub covers band. 'Breaking the law' I yelled. 'Who said that?' Yells mr.vox- 'you got it!' . This was followed by rock you like a hurricane/lights out/ mr.crowley etc. Awesome. We chatted for ages afterwards. band were called permanent vacation. Speaking of cheese, primus anybody ?
'Breaking The Law' is in their usual set
  5.
Brilliant thanks for the reply. Do I drill it out much bigger than the existing holes? I guess the size of the dowel available Cheers Edited just saw the above post, thanks
When you buy dowels, buy a drill bit to match the dowel diameter. In my experience, the dowels should be a close fit; close enough that they won't fall out if you put them in "dry" (without glue) and shake the neck. When you glue them in, allow enough time for the glue to set. Do not be tempted to work on them until they are properly set.
  6. I've got a rather battered metallic pink Foundation (to go with me loverly bunch of coconuts...). I like it
  7. Thank you - you can tell how much use I've made of it...
  8. Hot pink Charvel 5-string http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jackson-Charvel-Electric-Bass-Guitar-/181274139818?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2a34c7dcaa I may have seen the seller's name before?
  9.
The Conservative Party?
nah... not (ahem) blue enough
  10. Aria GT-series. £120 plus shipping. I don't know much about these. Active bolt-on 4-string, single humbucker. The seller talked it up as a "Ray killer", but I don't know Rays. It looks pretty and businesslike, to my eye. The body has a nice trans-blue front and tidy cream binding. Bought from ebay some time last year, but I've barely played it. Good condition; a flaw in the paintwork and a tiny (1mm square) ding in the tip of the headstock are the only problems I know of. The flawed paintwork suggests it might have been a factory second? Neck is fine but too chunky for my taste; it's 43mm wide at the nut. The pup sounds nice but is a bit weedy, IMO. Controls are Vol/Bass/Treble; the two tone controls have central detents, which is a nice little feature. Currently wearing Schaller straplocks; I'll swap these for conventional buttons unless the buyer wants the Schallers. Pictures here: http://s1295.photobu.../Aria_GT-series Edit for width at nut.

tempting... someone else buy this please
  12. I shipped a Squier to Greece once; I took it apart, wrapped it carefully and built a shipping case for it, from wood and hardboard. Heavy, but it did give peace of mind. I forgot to take photos though. Also I shipped a guitar to Spain in April (acting for the buyer - Ebay seller wouldn't ship abroad). That was in a hard case. Buyer arranged insured UPS shipping via Interparcel. I bubblewrapped the guitar, put it in the hard case, layer of bubblewrap, put that in a guitar-sized cardboard shipping box, more bubblewrap, put the whole lot in a bass-sized shipping box, lots of tape with FRAGILE on it. I was very nervous, but all went well
  13.
I don`t like seeing people smash guitars/musical equipment. I see it as a waste. The original guys that did it fair enough, it was new and exciting back then but now it looks contrived and pointless to me, especially when you see them trot off to get their Squiers before doing it. I think a far more rock n roll thing to do would be to sign then auction the gear and give the proceeds to Great Ormond St Hospital.
This

  15. I was hoping this would be CAR... I have a right-handed one in CAR which would look better with a reverse headstock
  16.
Richie Blackmore used to swap his strat for a cheapo woolworths special before sacrificing it on the alter of Rock 'N' Roll and the Marshall stacks he used to destroy were made of cardboard. It was all just pantomime for the teenage boys in the front row. I hope this bit of inside information has calmed you down.
Has his audience taken to destroying stuff?
  17.
Hideous! *adds item to watch list*
Me too
