1. Hi all, hoping someone can help with some info. I never really knew anything about Greco (or the whole Japanese manufacturers and Fender stuff from the 70's/80's) but for whatever reason I came across some vids of Greco P and J basses and for the most part I just really like what I've heard so far. Did some research and came across the stuff with them, Fender, Tokai etc. All very interesting actually. Just wondering what the general consencus is out there, in terms of to get a Greco or not to get a Greco (P and J specifically, not like the Thunderbired for example). Any year/era better or worse than others? And what the going rate for one of them is now. I saw there was one some months ago (or last year?) that was a little over £300 that sold, but I've seen others nearer £500 that not sure if they got sold. I see this for £695: http://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/basses/grecopb.htm I know condition would be a factor, but what kind of prices are reasonable for a Greco?
2. Bought a bass (a real beauty mind you) off of Rich and the whole transaction was great. We did the deal over a period of time and the communications were easy, until we finally met up and had a really nice chat in the process. I would not hesitate to do any dealings with Rich. Thanks again!
3. Hey Huw, Just wanted to say I really dig the stuff on your channel and these latest bassline videos! Thanks and I hope you have the time once in a while to keep adding to them.
4. I specifically kept myself away from this for sale thread 'till there was a buyer...resisting temptation and all that. But with that said, I'll join the queue of 'if you move it on'
5.
How do I justify 4 corvettes without divorce?
I've managed to do it with Streamers. Where there's a will, there's a way.
6. Bought some books from ordep. Good comms, quick delivery and everything as described. Thanks!
7. Ben is an absolute pleasure to do business with! Bought a beautiful Warwick from him, everything as described. Excellent communications, amazing packaging...basically how a deal should be done. Quite frankly I'm waiting to see what bass he next has to sell Thank you Ben for the awesome Warwick!
8. What the .... ! (lol, I see the usual (Warwick) suspects are on this thread ) Beautiful basses.
9. Aaarrrgggggghhhhhhh...! I'll close the screen now and pretend I did not see that.
10.
Lovely bass but dude, that string spacing...
hahaha...I was confused by that comment and only thought to look after seeing that quote, but nice bass man
11. Would I have needed another stage 1, no. But dang that was a good deal.
12. Tonci has a stash of Warwicks or something, don't know where he gets these beauties. Somebody will be very happy.
13. I remember this bass from a couple years ago, if its the same one that is. It was beautiful then, its beautiful now. Alas I will have to wait another 2 years it seems to maybe get it one day. GLWTS, hope it finds a nice home.
14.
before i put it in the fireplace to heat my room, is anyone interested?
Please don't even joke about that, the mere thought of it brings a tear to my eye...you could do that maybe with any other bass, just not the Warwick...here's hoping you get a sale unless Santa enlarges my bank account.
15. I gotta say that really does look quite lovely.
16.
It looks like a yawning dolphin Nice bass, good luck with the sale!
...that, or it just looks bad a$$ Maybe its a bad a$$ yawning dolphin. But like he said, GLWTS!
17. Oh, there is interest...just no where near my financial reach. At least I get to look at the pictures every time I open this thread. I'll be sad when this is gone.
18.
Reducing the Warwick Streamer Stage 1 Six string to £600. Had a massive leak in the house which damaged several of my bass guitars due to damp. Took it to a tech about a month back and found there were problems with the neck, more specifically dead frets in the upper part of the fretboard. He managed to fix it but the trussrod has been wound to it's maximum tightness though. I've now had it out of said damp environment for about two months so that may have helped the neck but it's more than likely it will need a new trussrod.
That's rough dude. I often wondered what I'd to if anything happened to my basses. Most probably sit in a corner somewhere and cry. If I was in the market for a 6 I'd have loved to try this out. GLWTS
19. That is a price reminiscent of a couple years aback. Doubt you'll get a corvette for around that anymore. If you looking for a German Warwick for not much, this could be it.
20. I'll put everyone out of their misery....I know first hand that this bass is no longer for sale, and yes, it is a really nice bass
21. Whoa, now that is a price drop...where's £1295 when you need it.
22. Bought Adam's 5 string Squier. Exactly as described and excellent communications as we discussed delivery/shipping and it all went very smoothy. Would not hesitate doing any deals with him again!
23.
which will make loads of space in the house thereby gaining me lots of wife-points
Ha! Funny, but oh so true....
