  1. he would have been known by some already but after that track he just blew up big time. Fun/stupid story...I was out clubbing with some friends many moons ago, and Damien had a concert that weekend, so he dropped into the club with his peeps. So its late and we outside the club now jus' chillin' and Damien decides to leave and passes by us. My friend belts out 'Junior Gong!'. He proceeds to promptly drop his head, raise his fist and tell us the ubiquitous...'Blessssss...'.
  2. @SumOne For real! I forgot all about that one, nice.....
  3. Ok this might throw off the feel of the thread a bit, but I'm listening to this and I really dig it. But its giving me a sense of something else, and then I realise its this (at least in my head). Strip back the bassline a heck of alot more, concentrate on the main repetitive phrase slowed down, have the bass boom some more and fast forward a couple decades...at very least, it gave me a reason to listen to this one again OK...back to the old school stuff now....
  4. So maybe nobody else is gonna care about this, but my mind was blown recently! I had posted up a cover of 'Lady' done by Wayne Wade a couple weeks ago on this thread that I had been listening to for years, and it got me to thinking what else he has. I then stumble across 'Too Experienced'. I was like, hold on, that is a Barrington Levy song (Which I absolutely love!)...but Wayne Wade must predate that, so Barrington's is a cover of his! So I keep searching, and I come across this article: https://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20111002/ent/ent4.html Only to realise that they are both covers of a song by Bob Andy from 1970. This may be old news for some, but I was amazed to find all this out! Just in case it interests anyone, here are 3 version of the same song (or 2 versions and one original). That Barrington version will forever have a special place in my heart from my youth, but it was so cool to find out a little history of the song and hear how different artists did it in slightly different styles. If you've made it this far reading this, congratulations on listening to my ramblings Hope you enjoy the music.
  5. So here I am on a Sunday morning on my laptop trying to be productive with some things I need to get done, and this has been keeping me company for the past hour and a half or so....just clicking repeat everytime it finishes
  6. Fuh real dude. Man, I have not listened to Burning Spear in a long time....time to hit up some youtube I would also dig some remakes. Like this one. Personally, I really like the original song even without the reggae vibes. But this reggae version just always had me wanting to dance with my lady...just puts me in a place (sorry if this was also dropped in this thread, no way I can go through the entire thread for now to see what was posted)...play this on a long drive to the beach, or at volume on a beautiful chilled Sunday morning....yesss....
  7. Cool, I did not know this thread existed. Brings me back to the reason I fell in love with bass in the first place, dub. I can vaguely remember when I used to go to my aunt's place when I was very young and she would have these ole' school reggae vinyls playing and I just did not get the vibe then...it always used to make me feel sleepy But then in later years when dub/dancehall was a big thing in my youth and getting more exposure to that and reggae...the hypnotism and rhythm got you.
  8. Darn, I had forgotten all about that commercial. That was legit the first time I ever heard that song. This one, might be too tame for you all..but that Debenham's commercial got that song hook stuck in my brain, it just makes me feel happy.
  9. Really lovely bass. Were the machine heads changed out for the more updated wooden style ones?

    It's like wood grain psychedelic...cool.
  11. I literally just finished watching a youtube vid of Tony Grey getting his newest Fodera. And at the end it just fired that thing up in my head again, 'I've got to get a Fodera one day'. Bucket list sorta thing. I immediately come on BC to see what Fodera's are lurking around, just to window shop and dream. GLWTS
  12. That is noice!

O M G Just gorgeous. This is the point I turn into a screaming teenager with high pitched voice. And I still see some beauties there, which you may or may not remember, we've spoken about briefly over the years. There is still hope for me! That wall is just f!%&ing awesome. Why this pandemic getting in the way...why, why, why. My consolation is that I still have some of your past flames in my stable .....I would love to add more.

I remember when I first joined the forum years ago and I did some searches for Warwicks, I had come across that 'epifini' sale thread of yours. I could have cried!!! I don't think I picked up my jaw from the floor for about a week after that. In fact, just for eye candy, I would periodically find that thread again over the subsequent years (I kid you not) just to see again what you had all at one time.
  15. I wish I had spare cash for this. I was lusting for the seaboard block a few months ago for the portability, so that I could noodle on the go. I even stalked the Apple store and basically made them get out one for me to try it. But full size keys would be fun for home. GLWTS.
  16. That looks gorgeous
  17. Ah awesome man! You've tried quite a few, good to know your opinions on any differences. I 'think' I have your red one. I've always wanted to get a natural one, but I'll have to get 2 more jobs also 😛 If my numbers play on Friday I'll be in touch (heh), otherwise GLWTS!
  18. I'm just curious spacecowboy, how many ss2's have you had the privilege of owning, any differences between them? I would love this one, but then that's me just being greedy and dreaming I had the cash
  19. My MIJ '64 reissue is this same colour scheme. How awesome would it be to have the real thing!
  20. Ah good. Temptation avoided!
