  1. Duran Duran Duran?
  2. I’ve had that and fortunately in my case it was pickup height so easily dealt with.
  3. The first time I played Rebellion with Knock Off was a great gig, we’d worked towards it, and it was just great, for our first time there, playing to probably 800 people was amazing. The last time I played Rebellion was kind of bitter sweet, it was a simply fantastic gig, some 2000 plus people watching & singing along, but I knew that was to be my last Rebellion with Knock Off (they didn’t yet know that however). But the gig that means most to me was when we (Knock Off) played a gig for a guy who sadly was dying of cancer. His wife contacted us and asked if we would do it as we were his fave band. We of course said yes. I just feel that that gig had a real meaning, rather than just being a gig if that makes sense. Sadly he died a few weeks later, from what I understand his casket was carried off to one of our songs.
  4. I get what you mean @DGBass, the first US Fender I bought, well it just had a greater feel of solidity to it that none of the previous Mex or Squiers had. It’s difficult to define but it just felt more substantial.
  5. In general I’d say once there are no original members left, however when you look at some bands some replacements have been in the bands far longer than the person they replaced. Becomes a tad difficult then to make the call.
  6. And apparently they cut out the Save Our Souls bit that the kids were going to sing.
  7. Of course, how could I have forgotten that, a classic.
  8. Leona Lewis made a decent offering with One More Sleep in 2013
  9. A mate of mines Xmas song was covered by Frank Turner a few years back. I still prefer the original though.
  10. I saw them around 85, had never really been a fan but it was a great gig, really lively & energetic which wasn’t what I expected.
  11. As above, tools for the job, songs in the set require the low B string so best it’s there & available. I rarely use the G, and in my last band I rarely used either the D or the G, doesn’t matter, play the instrument you like.
  12. And wondering why after pedalling furiously for 4hrs he’s still no nearer to the pub……
  13. They’re nice, more like a traditional flat but again take highs nicely and don’t sound “flubby” on a Precision like some can.
  14. Oh they still sound like flats, but are easier to be pushed to a rock sound than others. My flats faves are Dunlops, find them to be really nice to play. 45-105 are less tension than Roto rounds tho.
  15. Well at heart I’m really not a flats guy, but they’re a bit more scooped in the sound than most other flats, and can be pushed to sound quite “round” and aggressive as the top end is pretty decent. Apparently Phil Lynott used them so have a listen to some live Lizzy perhaps?
  16. I found Roto 40-100 flats to be comparable to their 45-105 rounds tension wise.
  17. Kinell, I find I rarely use them all on a 4 string!
  18. I`d reckon it`s possible that the owners/sellers are trying to offload whilst they think that people still have some money left. Either that or they happen to need the money themselves, or due to increase in interest rates think they may get a better return with the money invested in accounts etc.
  19. I think that the second hand price, around £1100/£1200 is what they really should be when new.
  20. I used those for a good few years. Ever mindful of my OCD they matched my Ashdown amps quite nicely.
  21. Darkglass Microtubes B7K Orange Bass Butler GK Plex Tech21 Geddy All got my vote Which is rather annoying as I have the Sansamp and Ampeg SCRDI. I liked the Sansamp in that clip, wouldn’t rave about it, but not keen on the SCRDI at all (tho love it when I use it at home).
  22. I think it’s the reassuring presence. Tho strangely enough last week I used both my Jazz and my Precision at rehearsal, I preferred the Precision as there was that reassuring solidity to the sound whereas the band preferred the Jazz as it has more lows.
  23. That is awesome
  24. What use will they be, we won’t be able to see or keep warm…..
