1. Cheers Andy! You're never too old to rock n roll mate... as you WELL know.... so by inference you are therefore never too old for a pointy headstock!
2. Thanks for all the lovely comments chaps. A great bass is a great bass, regardless of how 'cool' the name on the headstock is perceived to be.
What's the nut width mate?
It appears to be approx 4.1 - 4.2 cms....
3. It's solid black Wow, over 2000 views & still no solid bites? This is an amazing fretless at a fair price. Anyone gonna make me a sensible offer?!?
4. Yep, this is probably the most reliable, underrated & best sounding 'rock' amp you can buy! It's actually capable of so much more than just rock tones though
5. In my quest to streamline my gear I have sadly decided to move on this absolutely STUNNING amp.... but only because I also have the modular versions that make this amp up! The Tech 21 Landmark 600 is a 600w at 4ohm powerhouse with two separate pre-amps (the legendary RBI and RPM) built in which can be used individually or combined to create an awesome tone of your design! This is particularly useful if you set up e.g. one preamp for a clean solid low end.... and the other for a fizzing distorted high end.... giving instant tones from Geddy Lee to Chris Squire to Justin Chancellor! You could of course set up each preamp for a different bass.... or two different tones completely. This amp is now only made as a custom order with Tech 21 only having their smaller 300w version available to the public at large... soundclips of the 300 can be heard here but only give a taste of what this beast is capable of! http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/amps/bass/landmark300.html Some further info: SansAmp XLR Output works like a built-in direct box to deliver the true tone of the amp to the PA desk or studio board without compromising detail, warmth or responsiveness. The XLR is switchable from -20dB to 0dB. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gain is a 10dB gain boost to set up the pre-amp for different pickups. For example, with lower output, passive pickups, you can have punchier sounds with Gain engaged. Conversely, with higher output, active pickups, you can have a cleaner sound with Gain disengaged. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Effects Loop. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuner Output - Independent buffered output provides a constant unaffected signal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/4” speaker outputs Condition is excellent as it has been housed in a rack for the whole of its short life.... Price? Well that's a difficult one.... SOLD Payment by cheque, direct bank transfer or cash....and collection from Surrey is preferred/recommended, though I could meet halfway for petrol costs.
6. The next bass I'm offering up in my gear-changearound is this superb Spector Rex bass. This is a popular sleek-Thunderbird type design with thru neck, EMG-Hz humbuckers and black hardware. As you can see, I've customised it with high quality Spector 'crown' inlay decals on the fretboard which don't interfere with fingering. They look VERY convincing, but can easily be removed if you don't like them and leave no sticky residue... Soundwise it has a very tight and focussed tone, a little like a Jazz on steroids.... really cuts through a mix with ease.... Condition is very good with just some normal player wear scratches/light dings. There is also a small varnish crack from over-tightening of one of the machinehead screws (see pic below). Pricewise I'm looking for *SOLD* (+ shipping of your choice) with payment by cheque or bank transfer...... or cash on collection from Surrey or Central London. Could also meet halfway within 50 miles....
7. Sadly they never made fivers of this bass. You could always get it and have it set up for BEAD?
8.
I don't know anything about these but that looks extremely cool - very sleek. A proper rockstar's bass.
It certainly is! It's a very streamlined, comfortable and powerful sounding bass. Very underrated IMHO...
9.
Given your loyalty to the brand, you should think about contacting Stuart and putting together a Cetera Signature Edition! Any thoughts to the model, spec, and colourway you would insist on? Or do you already own one which you secretly think should be the Cetera Signature Edition?
Lol! Thanks! That would be nice! To be honest I think an NS2 in gloss black with a thinner neck (like the pre-Kramers/Kramers), gold hardware and a HazLab preamp would have to be my 'signature' model.... and I already have one of those!
10. Thank you Sir! Indeed it is.... BUMP!
11. I've decided to streamline/change-up my collection slightly so I'm moving on some basses. You've probably seen my beautiful Pedulla fretless in another sale thread.... So what do we have here then? Well, it's a superb early 90's Japanese made Jackson 'Kip Winger' signature 'Futura' bass with active Jackson pickups/circuitry. The bass is thru-neck with a 21 fret rosewood fingerboard and black heavy duty bridge/hardware. The bass is relatively lightweight with a streamlined 'Super-Jazz' body and a very comfortable neck. Tones are full and present and range from deep bass to a hi-fi zing. Indeed, the guy who owned this before me played it in a blues covers band... and I've used it both in a versatile function band scenario and a full-on heavy rock band. The white colour is bold and lightly sparkly but yellowing slightly around the bass of the fretboard & lower cutaway area. There are the usual light player-knocks on the headstock & a couple on the body edges but nothing major or worthy of mention. These Japanese Jacksons are highly regarded for their build quality and attention to detail and are, in the opinion of many Jackson afficionados, the last of the truly great Jacksons... As such, these basses are getting much harder to find and, with the resurgence of classic rock starting to become quite sought after. Not many were made in this colour either.... Anyway, with all that out of the way..... the price... I'm looking for SOLD. I will post internationally for additional courier costs. I will accept payment in the form of a direct bank transfer or cheque (subject to clearance). No Paypal please. NO trades. and here it is, pictured with its brothers :
12.
LOL, I'm glad you did sell 'cos my one is your old one!
Ah! That explains it then! lol!
Our singer suggested I cut it in half, which, given its construction, really isn't all that bad an idea. Any thoughts?
Aaaah!!! Don't do that! Sell it back to me rather than doing anything that drastic!

14. Richard Jones of 'The Feeling' regularly uses a B-301 live and always has a great tone....
15. Sorry mate... nothing is gonna sound like your 1516. Awesome cab.... shouldn't have sold mine really. Still got my Mesa 2x15 though
16.
Most certainly will if I get a sale or two
I may be open to a cash/trade split with your Genz Neo212 + cash if that helps...?
17. I have a Model T and it's great. Lovely tones and very playable... I too am interested in trying a Diamond P Custom... and I especially like the blue one!
18. I'm pleading the 'fifth' & leaving it at that! lol!
19.
Apart from the pick-up "placement" the ESP's look great.
Nige....Surely that's what makes them 'great'.... otherwise they would just be dull PJ basses?!
20.
BTW,you have too many Euro Spectors and I would suggest you give one to me,especially as I don't have one
I may have ONE you could BUY off me
21. Love the Ovation and the Guild! Great stuff!
22. A couple more recent arrivals..... Inspired by the quality of the all-blue ESP 'The Surveyor' featured earlier in this thread I've just imported a couple of rare mid 80's ESP 'Masayoshi Yamashita' basses from Japan.... (the 2nd one is active and EMG-loaded!): Just need to find 5 mins now to put them through their paces & see what the multi-P pickup configuration is capable of!
23. I like Thunderbirds but I much prefer versions by other makes (i.e. Spectorbird, Mike Lull, etc). The Gibson ones I just found to be unwields one-trick ponies. Sorry!
