It's all part of the GB story or 'canon' as our young friends are fond of saying now. Others may know better than me but I think it depends on when it was built so it may be a Bernie with Lowden or from a time after they parted ways. Either way, it's lovely.
Well unless there's some secret sauce in the electronics, I doubt it. I think the PR company was paid on hyperbole.
Most of the pick-ups, switching and wang-bar-ness was nailed by Fender in the '60s.
Would still love to have a go on one though eh?
Arch-denizen of the music show, Nigel Clutterbuck (surname sounds like the technique) does a good line in this combined with slap and pull. Here's one of his typical note-sandwiches...
Bought my Two Notes Le Bass pre-amp from them. First unit developed an intermittent power loss. They took it in - verified the fault and replaced it as soon as new stock arrived. Not dealt with them over the Internet but would buy from them again. Frankly it's a great resource with tons of unusual and exotic stock you simply don't get in PMT, etc.
So I starting to GAS for the short scale 5. Question for the EHB owners out there is string changing easy? Wondering about nut slots as I'd probably go for E to C tuning. Thoughts? Experiences?
Yes but in every position - so 5 x # frets. Scales unfold so much better on a five and bloom across two octaves meaning an availability of options. Diminishing returns with a '6' though..
Now that's what I call Christmas - disc1 - just had Girls Aloud, Now Kylie with 'Santa Baby' which is her cover of the rather suggestive Eartha Kitt original.
Anyone else got this fantastic bass album put out by Trace Elliot in the day... nigh on 25 years ago? Loads of great contributions but Mick Karn's kicks everyone's donkey.
I had a fretless of this. Awesome - GLWTS. I love my custom bass (GB) but it's nice to know that in a post-nuclear environment, me and the 'roaches can find a Yammy and get a great bass... Industry standard!
