  1. That could be good. JB is at his best when given a direction and context.
  2. So team... Yes, Genesis... all electric hymns basically. Chris Squire is a walking cathedral. Forget any syncopation. And yes they use odd meters but by and large it's a carpet of harmony with Howe/Wakeman/Banks/Hackett providing the melody. Glorious!
  3. Lovely - plenty of phwerp there...
  4. Here's a sentence I wasn't expecting to say, "That semi looks amazing!". But it does. Would love to hear how it sounds. Anyway to the OP, GLWTS.... as modern Bernie owner I can attest to the fit, finish and general awesomeness... So in a moment of lucidity I'd add that you see these basses like the OP's and you play them and you get this vivid 3-d tone and the others sound like a plank. And frankly play like one. So I restate GLWTS someone is going to get a cut above...

Whoa! Looks lovely and that action low...
  6. Brian Carroll apparently. Ex-student of Paul Gilbert.
  7. Meh... admire him as an artist and doing things a little bit differently but his music to me is quirky for the sake of it and his ideas sound unfinished. Also the Deliverance Backwoodsman shtick was a good antidote to the po-faced grunge crowd at the time - less so now. Can't blame a guy for tryin' I do like that guy with a bucket on his head though... can't remember his name but he's a bit good.
  8. Christ! Did you get that (Social) working without latency?
  9. Looks fun... Can it do all that filter malarkey?
  10. No info sorry but it's beaut!
  11. Oof! Loving this and your photos look like it has a pretty decent action. Thump-on!
  12. Christ! Recounting your dreams is tantamount to regaling your golf stories... Or epic drinking stories. You had to be there...
  13. I think Adam is great. Very learned. Interesting perspectives..
  14. Having a noodle on the GB... Last chord terribly late sorry.... SysBlues.mov
  15. Never did understand what a 'funky boogaloo' was though....
  16. Absolutely... so she's published her tutor books 50 years ago. Now let's address Gary Willis' phenomenal approach...

    Bass ID.

I like the look of these... Sort of Wal on steroids but then I remember I set my EQ then forget about it so having 10 trillion options is somewhat redundant...
  18. Yeah the 'Groovehacker' thing grates but otherwise, that's the nature of digital promotion. As I say, he's more than justified his presence with lots of great free content. I like his Billy Sheehan fixation and his respectful coverage of Jaco. He needs more Stanley thinking about it...
  19. Hmmm his advertising is pretty intense BUT he's got so much good free content I think we can give him a pass. Currently hacking through interminable Gary Willis lesson promotions but hey, Gary is great too. Love his books. Nice chap too - met him at a Bass show a few years back.
  20. Saw Chris, Neil and Allan many times. Never saw Jaco. Just missed his Manchester WR 8:30 show by a year of gig attendance...
  21. Think I just want Jaco and Chris Squire to be reborn TBH... And Allan Holdsworth and Neil Peart.
  22. I have the Two Notes too but I accept the hiss as part of the whole hairy sound mojo. I do GAS for the DG range, actually the Vintage micro tubes. My concern over your recommendation though is the ubiquity of this sound from the Prog-Metal arpeggiators. Also the IRs.... phfffw... Just make a righteous sound out the box. Maybe I should try a DG again...
