  1. Wow! More than a lot of Alembics! (Less than an ExFactor.)
  2. That's some design and manufacturing just on the neck...
  3. That's a looker. How does it play? What do all the switches do? Guessing the knobs are vol, pan & a 3-band?
  4. Adding to your list, the Phil Jones Dual Compressor splits a signal by frequency, with dual independent compression and effects loops: https://www.pjbworld.com/cms/x2c/ Also you can do this on the cheap with the new Boss GX 10, again splitting your signal by frequency then applying different amps and effects before recombining.
  5. Nice little nod to notable user, Chris Squire in the video there. Sounds good too.
  6. I have one of the Ibby EHB sixes and I agree with the OP - I'd go back to normal frets or a less severe fan/offset so straight at the 12th fret (rather than around the 7th where it is currently.) Many different ways to fan and each is a compromise - as are straight frets. Up high on the Ibby it's a little more difficult to play than a straight fret instrument.
  7. Lucky Ducky! Fancied that myself but couldn't drag the Mrs. She's not keen on the fusion... On the plus side, I'm seeing Macca next!
  8. Hmmm... I have no idea at what I'm looking. Does it sound good?
  9. Is that Madame Cholet rocking a Ken Smith 6 on your banner!?

Thought she was a connoisseur of food not high-end extended range basses.

Well spotted! And very true…but  you can’t spell “Kevin Smith” without “Ken Smith VI” 😁

  10. GAS brewing... will check out the examples for bass.
  11. That's what I wanted to know about Div/Mix thank you. Next question is, 'Does the GX-10 have the same Div/Mix options as its big brother GX-100?'
  12. So the Boss video includes some bass playing so I assume there wont be a GX-10b anytime soon. Parallel signal paths on the cards but remains to be seen what you can do within 'Div' and 'Mix'... Looks promising though.
  13. A Bluetooth adapter judging by Andertons' site (£44.99). £350 is not a bad price if the parallel signal path goodness can be frequency split...
  14. Agree with the sentiment of the thread - probably more refinement than innovation, but Felix P. doesn't half make it sound good!
  15. It was. I was just having a joke at the OP who didn't check these forums!
  16. John Nettles?
  17. Yes, I've been enjoying the 'Enigmatic' videos by Dumble-hungry guitarists. It's market forces and the numbers of bass players. Not sure any bass amps are as iconic as the 5150s and Twin Reverbs, etc of this world. Probably not enough demand for dedicated amp pedals but maybe a bass version with a range of IRs?

    Two compressors

So two compressors in series? Interesting. That's, I think more unusual than the parallel signal path dual compressor route. Some sound clips would be good?
  19. Multi-FX are getting cheaper. No dedicated bass patches but worth a squirt and a bit of editing surely?
  20. You're quite right but I enjoy researching new pedals. I'll add another crossover but this has individual compressors for each path: https://reverb.com/uk/item/81597731-pjb-phil-jones-bass-x2c-dual-band-compressor-crossover
  21. Ooh! Not seen that one before...
  22. ...is a phrase I didn't expect to read! Good input though thank you.
  23. BC'ers, Hankering to try signal splitting ah la Squire, Sheehan and others to combine clean and dirt signals or paths with different compression and effects. I know the top-end multi-FX can split their signals for separate effects processing before recombining them but I wondered if any of you have had success doing this with any of the new budget units appearing? (I know the Boss LS2 is always an option but a) I don't have all the pedals I'd need and b) I'd like to try splitting the signal by frequency as opposed to having two 'full-range' signals if possible.) Thoughts? Experiences?
  24. Yes, great interview and he seems such a cool guy - probably why he's got so many (good) gigs over the years. Here's hoping the Beat tour makes it over to here in the UK next year.
  25. Gene Simmons vibe about it...
