  2. The last one, the chocolate brownie. That would be my call on almost any bass (just preference), but I also think it would be most appropriate here. You're getting an original neck by the original luthier (with stamps and provenance) and this is closest to the original, but clearly an upgrade. As @Grooverjr says, it's the one that would work best with a coloured/ stained body too. Your choice of course, and what a nice problem to have. 😃
  3. Caught them at Bearded Theory over the weekend and yeah, Perry’s not sounding the best but they were ace anyway. That Avery/Perkins rhythm section is still quite something when they really lock in. Enjoy!
  4. Today
  5. The GK MB800 (not fusion). Just sounded great through 10s. Mesa Subway D-800+. Best tones anywhere. Having a HPF and mid volume control makes this a true Swiss army knife. Power to spare with 2 ohm capability. Epifani UL901 v2. Off the shelve models will bring a smile to any bassist pie hole. That being said. 1000 watts. More clean tones than I knew there actually were. Still easy to get the bite. Through Subway cabs or Epifani cabs the results seem the same. Frank Epifani custom made 2 for a player you may (or may not) have heard of. Stanley Clark. Both with a custom tone stack. And the only 2 rated to go to 2 ohms. I was lucky enough to fall backwards into one of them as it was being tested by a friend of mine. Who let me borrow it to give my opinion. I replied with "name your price". He did, I paid. While I foolishly let go of the MB800 I once owned. I now have just 3 heads. 2 Subway D-800+. And my Epifani. All run through Subway cabs. I keep a pair of 212s and a pair of 410s. Performances these days are ampless. 8 driver IEMs and the Quadcortex make all my amps useless. But I hold on to them. Just in case.
  6. The Doom 2 is my favourite pedal and I’ve had one on my board since I first got one. It’s a fantastic synth fuzz, although it took me some getting my head around when I first got it as I was used mainly to Muff-style fuzzes. A lot of time and effort has gone into the design, not just of the circuit but of the enclosure too. It’s a custom enclosure and the printing is fantastically well done. It doesn’t hurt that it sounds great too though. I’m glad that supply and demand are finally getting into a more sensible place again and I hope more people have a chance to try it.
  7. Hi Steve, ill buy this from you if its in working condition? I can collect. please call me on 07746825951

  9. Hi Steve, I am a local saxophonist and would love to buy this off you presuming it all works as it should? I can collect from Milton Keynes as well if still available! Thanks, Dom
  10. The first one is a lovely bit of wood but if you've got that kind of electric blue body (assuming what I found on Google for aniline blue washburn is accurate) the bokote might work better as it's not so busy
  11. This has come up in threads before and I think is quite key to how to progress without struggling too much or getting injured. Have a look at THIS THREAD as it might give a bit of help. Good luck.
  12. Recently fully switched over to a HX Stomp so I'm clearing out my pedals and related accessories. Great condition, all works perfectly, velcro on the bottom as my board was deep enough to mount underneath. Comes with the mounting brackets for certain Pedaltrain boards, various length power cables and a small amount of velcro. Retail at about £189, now going for £115 includes delivery. Any questions, ping me a message

  16. From what you say, your left hand position might not be ideal, although that may be me misinterpreting it. Have you got your thumb roughly central on the back of the neck with your fingers curved over the fretboard? Your teacher will be able to sort that out if your hand positioning could be improved. I've got quite short fingers but I can play a 7-string bass (others may disagree).
  17. Just bought a wonderful Sire v7 fretless. This has come with a set of Daddario chromes flatwounds, but I intend to use light rounds on this bass due to hand issues, which I I've bought so these are surplus. Gauge 45- 132 beefy B string, they'll fit any jazz/p style/musicman 5. They've been used (but not much) so settled but still full of life, the silks are immaculate and as new. £35 posted to your door (uk only)
  18. I dont know if you're looking for other options, but I'd be looking at the HB powered spaceship The power supplymis built into the board. Best value/quality ratio for a product. I highly recommend https://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_spaceship_power_40_b.htm (I feel like this will be one of those times where i miss the point of why you're asking! Those cases for the mono do look nice. So expensive, but i suppose if youve got 1000 quid worth of pedlas it makes sense to have a better case)
  19. First port of call would be to send it back for repair if you like the pre I would think, he has quite a good repuatation for customer service.
  20. Wow! There's a blast from the past! GLWTS!
  21. I have this config. You do really notice the smaller cabinet on the Super Mini. I tend to use mine for practice on it's own. Then in parallel with the BB for bigger gigs. Also sometimes the BB for main backing, with the SM pointing up like a floor wedge, so I can hear my intonation, where the missing bottom octave makes it easier to hear the notes.
  22. Never used that feature so I didn’t know that, thanks!
  23. Yeah, that great eastern xo would be perfect. If i had the space I'd seriously consider it. I think it woild really tighten up the C4 and some of the crazier reverb toneprints i use, but on this board i dont have the space for it. Knowing me, I'd run it wide open anyway! I will run an empress paraeq deluxe before the blender so i can kind of do a bit of focusing, but yeah, that is a cool pedal for sure. The IE looks awesome as well. The KMA tyler is a bit much but i dig what it does and i could definitely utilise it!
  24. I thought I was heading downhill after moving country and a couple of local ish groups didn't work out. Answering one advertisement changed everything. Despite not having done anything significant in 14 years, I'm now in a band with talent and aspirations that I had pretty much given up on. You really never.know what's out there!
