  2. As I have already said, without tea, I might die. I’m a Lancashire Lad, and I’ve been brought up never to decline a cup of tea. I think I made two or three pots on the day, in addition to those made by others. The plentiful supply of tea made my day very enjoyable indeed.
  3. You will struggle to find a better value cab! 4x300W (1200W) 8 Ohms Roughly 25kg Size - 600x410x630mm Loaded with 4x eminence drivers (see pics for details). Marine ply construction. Open to sensible offers. Trade wise, I am interested in a clean boost pedal such as a rodenberg 707b or darkglass harmonic booster, or a line 6 helix stomp / stomp xl (assuming I have cash to add at the time...), but hey, try me. Located in Bedford, MK42 9UR. May be able to meet up somewhere or deliver for fuel money..but let's have that discussion first. Thanks!
  4. See...the problem with flatwound strings is that they last forever and even though these are an absolute bargain, with about 6 spare sets of tapewounds in my string drawer, it's unlikely that I would ever get the chance to use them. Sadly, on this occasion I must let someone else grab the bargain.... I can't believe that I'm doing this!!!
  5. You wonder why are some basses dirty. Go out and check all bikes around. You sure get my point.
  6. EHX Freeze https://www.ehx.com/products/freeze/ Only home use. Like new. Boxed. (comes with power supply) Price including postage in the mainland UK - £90 £85
  7. MPK Mini Plus - midi keyboard with 37 keys. Comes with the original box, and cable. Like new. Barely used. Still has protective foil on the sides. Price including postage - £100
  8. Very rare 1958 (first year of production) EB2 with original case (although case handle has come off). No breaks, no repairs. All original apart from the pickup, tuners and bridge which were replaced by Gibson in the 60s according to the previous owner. Sounds superb, very underrated basses and they really are a lot more versatile than a lot of people think - you can get a lot more than Jack Bruce out of these basses! Pickup greatly preferred but can post via UPS if necessary. 9. For sale due to an older Jazz Bass having come in and usurped it, this is a lovely player's grade 69 Jazz. Obtained in a trade on Basschat a while ago, I then had a professional nitro refinish done, including some delightful checking on the paintwork. Before I owned it it's had a replacement ebony fretboard with new binding, very professional job. I believe the pots and pickups are original, and pretty sure the bridge is too. Tuners are definitely original and are a little stiff but perfectly functional, they may benefit from some WD40 but not critical. Scratchplate isn't original either. Weighs in at 4.5kg according to my bathroom scales. Comes in a very cool but very heavy 70s/80s semi flight case, and will be very heavy to post so pickup/meet up greatly preferred. Alternatively I can provide a decent old gigbag instead. Can't upload pics here due to hitting my limit, if I can sort it out I'll add one here in a sec. https://ibb.co/WKM8BxV https://ibb.co/gzfGmTw https://ibb.co/44PSKT7 https://ibb.co/8d872QG https://ibb.co/B6Pn3Hd https://ibb.co/qCtqv32 https://ibb.co/5s6h36C https://ibb.co/t8Rcvn9 https://ibb.co/k5bqBGf https://ibb.co/fr99jGk https://ibb.co/7r5Sfjj https://ibb.co/MsYWsNc https://ibb.co/bHdvpz5 https://ibb.co/mhc9MH5 https://ibb.co/vxLR8Hb https://ibb.co/hdcfyqk https://ibb.co/8rwWfkm https://ibb.co/44RMwt4 https://ibb.co/f1c0JwZ https://ibb.co/2vR49PX https://ibb.co/h2KkRgF https://ibb.co/6D5sMcP https://ibb.co/crv8CBG https://ibb.co/JQ3zZSQ https://ibb.co/nkR7XMP https://ibb.co/tzmgST8 https://ibb.co/jfxgxzQ https://ibb.co/rF4yYB0 https://ibb.co/k0LfY7L https://ibb.co/1nd1R75
  10. Either! It works very nicely in either of those uses, I tend to use it more like a Bass VI but I also have a 12 string version of this that I use more often - plus a couple of other Bass VI-type things. Chords do work really well though, especially as it's slightly shorter length than a bass VI
  11. Wow. Museum piece. Or more exactly magazine piece about music history ahah! Amazing. Glws
  12. New pictures. It's been up 2 weeks, lots of trade offers, but none that I was really looking for. I'll probably just keep it after this weekend.
  13. Best bedroom/ practice amp you can get, drum machine, effects, tuner. What’s not to like. Good luck with the sale x
  14. I can't believe it's not sold. A beautiful vintage bass with case...what's not to like. I have 6 basses that l gig and alternate on a regular basis, but if l could warrant spending on another bass l would definitely buy this and just hang it on the wall and admire it like an expensive painting while sipping on a malt whisky....apologies in advance for the ramble l'll get my coat.... Glwts bud.
  15. Hi Folks, Unusual and unique custom build. Specs: Mahogany P shaped body with Flamed maple top, USA Mk1 Bart's, Aguilar OPB 2 18v Pre, USA Hipshot bridge, Lakland JO5 rosewood board 35' neck. Had this around 7 years or so, absolute dogs whatsits! However mounting veterinary costs dictate another prized Bass (either this or my Vintage 55-60) must reluctantly depart! Excellent condition for the age no noticeable dings or knocks, neck is mint! Sound wise it goes from very warm and deep to a modern snappy jazzy zizz! Brilliant low B goes without saying! Cash is king, but willing to trade with a nice, but lesser value 5 or 6 string Bass plus cash? Local delivery or meet preferred, could courier at buyers cost/arrangement? Gaucho
  16. Hi, A very well balanced 10lbs 5ozs this one, so no fly-weight however not heavy IMO. Regards Gaucho
  17. Last night a very local pub, local enough to not be able to get through a whole track on the way to it. Nice load in, I had bought a 20kg wheeled dolly from toolstation, you plonk the PA on it and wheel it in, fantastic, wonder why i never got one before. Easy setup, but then things went down. I wan't happy with the bass sound, it sounded lifeless through the PA. Everyone else was complaining at other things on sound, although luckily I can field some of those questions. but all the way through people were complaining. And it was very hot, unpleasantly so. After half time I just turned up the volume of people who I could turn the volume up of, reiterated my point to one woman complaining that the vocalist sounded unclear that yes, he was unclear and there was nothing I could do about that as that is what he sounds like, and got one with it. By then I had got peace with my bass sound, my new IEMs were rather nice, I had the backbeat which also helped a bit and although there wasn't much audience, they seemed generally happy to be there. Managed to stop a few songs earlier as there was pretty well noone there and obviously home early. But the last few songs I enjoyed, the new songs we introduced for this week worked well, and unlike last week, my voice seems to have got over the whooping cough or whatever it was. And we get paid, onward and upward!
  18. I have a little bag where I carry backups: some tools, strings, a strap, cables, batteries, adaptors, a little BAM200 amplifier... a wide range of stuff. I've just replaced it with a slightly larger one. Last night at soundcheck I realise I don't have my usual strap in the case. I had removed it to clean the bass a bit, and forgot to put it back. No biggie, I have a backup! Don't I feel smug? No strap. I didn't put a backup one in the new bag... Guy from the venue finds one. It's flimsy and has seen better days but I'm not complaining. 20 seconds into the first song of our 1st set... strap breaks. Managed to catch the bass, but I had to do the gig sitting down. You know what? It was a little weird but so comfy! I may forget my strap more often

  20. JBL has used aluminum voice coils for seventy years, many others do as well. Aluminum is used where light weight is the main consideration, copper where power handling is. Since the wire on voice coils doesn't flex the stiffness of aluminum doesn't matter.
  21. @three I found your sales ad and I know remember it. Actually, I had been in contact with its previous owner but lacked the dough. Definitely one of the best looking Spectors of all time! You should get it back 😉
