  2. An alternative ? https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-s30-strat-bass-30-6-short-scale-surf-green-dart-tastic/
  3. I couldn't make out if it was tongue in cheek or not - certainly made me consider whether I'd watch anything else he produces - mostly yabber with little substance anyway IMHO.
  4. They are lightweight, they are loud, but be prepared to make a change in your eq. Being uncoloured they really change the sound of an existing set-up and it takes a while to get it back (unless the uncoloured version is preferred of course). For me I moved away from BF as I found that I preferred the coloured sounding cabs but I’d never knock them, they’re great products and will handle pretty much anything.
  5. I had some dealings with James Demeter some years back - rather dour man but immensely knowledgeable and helpful - I had bought my prototype pedal of a member of his staff (now very much former) who was selling things 'out of the back door' without his knowledge!! James was not pleased but gave me the full spec on the pedal etc. I later sold the pedal but years later saw it at the Bass Gallery and bought it back - for more than I originally paid for it!! Like all his stuff - subtle and beautifully engineered. Currently using a MarkBass Little Mark 3 - have tried other amps but always come back to MarkBass - but really miss the Fender Bassman 500 I had (sold it as it never left the house - too big for our small gigs) and a Markbass R500 - which 'broke up' nicely. Should have kept that one!! Due a trip out East this Summer - Lowestoft boy by birth - but, sadly, if its gone by then its gone 😞 Good luck with the sale.
  6. The singer in the band I'm in is 66 and has had some serious health issues. She seems as keen as ever, and still sounds great, but I feel the writing is on the wall for the band (especially as gigs will be on hold for a while, as she has an operation due in June). We've been gigging for over 20 years without a hitch until now. I've formed other bands over the last few years but lack of commitment, from other band members. has meant they fizzled out eventually - or I left in a huff. I'm no spring chicken either (61 last December) and I don't really want to join a band of similarly aged old codgers, who just want to kill time fiddling about in a band until they get carted off to the care home. Maybe I should call it a day, sell all my gear, and buy a Ferrari (Do Ferrari make mobility scooters?).
  7. You're not helping! Yeah the ones I'm watching on eBay (because I'm a masochist) are all around £500, which is why this one is very tempting but for that pesky perennial problem of being skint.
  8. Hi everyone, decided to move on a few things that I'm not using. This is my spector legend thru neck 5 string. It's a great sounding and playing bass that feels every bit as solid as the euro 5 I had (although this has a shallower and IMO comfier neck) . This is a 35" scale and comes factory fitted with a brass nut, aguilar pickups and 2 band aguilar preamp. It's in great condition with minor marks from use that I'm struggling to photograph. There is one noticeable bit of damage to the upper edge of the body, about 6 inches up from the strap button. It has cracked the finish by the looks of it, I don't remember this being there when I bought it however have no idea how it's happened at home so I may have just missed it. Any trial welcome, collection or meet up preferred but could look into postage if needed. Thanks
  9. Lovely lovely lovely. It's what I use with my ABM750 nearly all the time! Really light, with wheels and handles and excellent deep but tight bass. I have a Barefaced 610 also but hardly use it as the Supertwin does it all.
  10. Hi All Originally Had this made for me , sold it bought it back , now selling again , as I’m hardly playing at all these days . Ebony lined board Carvin J pups and pre amp Active /passive eq some marks between the Pups where I siliconed a ramp on (idiot ) Looks and plays great comes with Carvin hardcase needs new latches but would be fine for shipping Uk only shipping £750.00 shipping can be discussed Cheers John
  11. Does the PC give a chime when you connect the pedal?
  12. The pickups look like the bridge pickup on a TRB5P, or an RBX 550 . None of the RBXs seem to have that scoop at the end of the neck that extends past the end of the curved fingerboard. RBX fingerboards seem to be square with a truss rod at the end of the neck.
  13. 'cept some of the sellers post pics of real Rics. I'm confident I can spot a faker, but others, maybe relatives buying presents or just newbies. It's not just newbies who get taken in either: a couple of years ago there was a shop which posted pics of the lovely blue Ric they had in for servicing, only to be ridiculed out of town by a barrage of "It's a Chickenbacker!!!" replies.
  14. Yes this could be arranged drop, PM me if you interested to discuss
  15. Are these cabs as good as they claim ? Considering a purchase if I can find one second hand ideally I like the light one cab does all idea How do they sound for say rock / pop

  17. Great basses - £400 sounds very cheap...
  18. He is also the lead guitarist and a proper talent so would be hard to replace to be honest. I did chat with the other guitarist but he was happy to just bounce along and doesn’t really fancy the hassle of getting someone new in, sure the drummer is similar (and plays in other bands so this was always a mates sideline anyway). It’s possible I guess but think it's unlikely. To be honest, the money never bothered me at all, we only did weddings when people who came to see us asked us to, or people who knew us well. It was just the perfectly chilled mix of a few fun gigs here and there but with zero band politics or hassle.

  20. Stunning - As the OP said, one of the finest Precision shaped objects money can buy.
  21. I’ve had both, much preferred the LBT as a nicer amp tone
  22. That's what I thought too. I'm not even looking for a new bass, well, not one like this. But it does seem like a cracking bass for the money until you add shipping etc on to the price tag. Still tempted though. It's not ludicrous.
