  2. I see you like the sound in "passive" mode. I guess you know it's not really passive, the pickups themselves are active and all pulling that switch up does is turn off the onboard EQ ... should be the same as turning the EQ knobs to neutral as you're still sending a buffered and actively mixed signal to the amp. Or am I wrong? I find the whole sound a bit "thin" unless I crank up the EQ knobs a bit. Ps: looks just like my ovangkol one (2001) so I'm guessing not boire. Might have a wenge neck tho ( don't know if that alters the sound, but it looks nice). Here's mine
  3. Nice bass, GLWTS. We call a big bill a “Broonzy” round here for obvious reasons.
  4. I used to import guitars from the States and sell vintage amps and parts the other way. Bought several Hiwatt amps for very little and made thousands in the end. The Partridge transformers alone could sell for hundreds. Used to buy old Fender basses and part those out too. Best was probably a Hiwatt DR103 I bought for £200 and sold for £1800. Worst was a slightly twisted 1965 jazz bass neck I sold for £150.
  5. Wow. Nice Dolphin, and Nice BassLab too 🙂 What year is this one ? Looks a bit too red for a Ovangkol, did you have the luck to score a Boiré one ? (although if it's lightweight it might not be). It seems weird to have a Tedur nut, too. How is the neck ?

  7. PRICE DROP – NOW £130 Excellent condition. This totally transparent compressor allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the ten, highly-visible gain-reduction status LEDs. Only £150. Collection from East London preferred. May ship at buyer expense.
  8. The RC3 Loop Station is surprisingly user friendly. Enjoy up to three hours of stereo recording time, storage for 99 loops, a “real drums” rhythm guide, auto-quantise technology and USB 2.0 compatibility all in a small BOSS stomp box. The RC3 offers auto-rerecord or plain playback looping, meaning that you can choose between layering another pass as soon as you’ve finished recording the first take, or just playing the recording back. With the aux in jack and the ability to slow loops down without changing pitch, you’ve got a formidable practice tool in the RC-3. Comes boxed with stickers and things… Only £90.00. Collection preferred from London E2. May post at buyer expense.
  9. … just a reminder the Beta Bass Overdrive is the Mk 2 version, they’re lovey pedals (I have two of them 😎). GLWTS.
  10. Doesn’t look right to me, I’d use the report message option , maybe log out and log back in again using the 2 part authentication
  11. https://www.facebook.com/share/eooroWg86rNmW8di/?mibextid=79PoIi £250 for a nice looking bass
  12. Between that and the next BB2 to come along the guy with a thousand quid to burn would be all set.

  14. Unfortunately not. I got into music at 12 by listening to Iron Maiden and Kiss records at the same time as our school music teacher was waffling on about the great composers which meant nothing to me. There was no emphasis on participation or playing an instrument. It was alien to me. As a result I dropped school music at the earliest chance and did my own thing. As a consequence I’ve never learned to read or write music but have worked out most of what I’ve needed to know.
