WHUFC BASS started following Payson Bridge Conversion on a Dingwall Bass
-
Has anybody done a Payson bridge conversion on a Chinese Dingwall bass? These bridges are standard fitment on the Canadian build basses but on the Chinese basses the individual saddles tend to be sharp and obtrusive for some playing styles. Is it a straight swap? Is there any drilling required at all and was it worth the money? (they ain't cheap!)

Zak says: "I was fired two weeks after reinstatement and asked to make a statement saying I had quit the who to pursue my other musical endevours this would be a lie. I love the who and would never had quit. So I didn’t make the statement ….quitting the who would also have let down the countless amazing people who stood up for me (thank you all a million times over and more) thru the weeks of mayhem of me going ‘in an out an in an out an in an out like a bleedin squeezebox x To clarify ‘other projects’ yes I do have other projects and always have. The Who have been sporadic or minimalist in touring most years apart from a two extensive tours in 2000 and 2006/7 To be precise while I was in the who 1996-1999 I had other projects with Johnny Marr, Lightning Seeds and Mike Scott. 2000-2003 Johnny Marr and The Healers opening for oasis in Europe releasing album and 6 month world tour 2004-2008 Oasis 2 studio albums and 120live shows. 2006-2017 Pengu!Ns , Sshh touring internationally. Releasing 3 singles, Kasabian bbc proms 2007 Weller Coxon Starkey Mani. 2015 Hollywood Vampires Roxy LA shows and rock in Rio 2017-2020 Trojan Jamaica record label releasing three albums and winning Grammy for best reggae album 2020 2020 Peter Green Tribute Concert . As u see there has always been time for other projects … 2022-2025/now mantra of the cosmos with Shaun Ryder Bez Andy Bell and NG. Releasing singles but not touring cos members are so busy. None of this has ever interfered with The Who and was never a problem for them . The lie is or would have been that I quit the who- i didn’t. I love the who and everyone in it."

Thanks for this info. Sadly, shipping on both those sites is more expensive than the string itself! -

Yamaha DXR 8 Active Speaker This unit has been used as a keyboard monitor and comes with brand new Yamaha outdoor semi waterproof cover and mains lead. It is in good condition although it has lost its control knob caps. Everything works as it ought to. It is in very good cosmetic condition It’s very powerful for an 8” active cab. Great little multi purpose speaker. The original woofer has been replaced with a recommended Fane equivalent. Power Output: Dynamic: 1100W (LF: 950W HF: 150W) / Continuous: 700W (LF: 600W HF: 100W) Frequency Range: 57Hz - 20kHz Inputs: XLR-3-31 x1 , INPUT2: Phone x2, INPUT3: RCA PIN x 2, THRU: XLR3-32 x 1 (Parallel with INPUT 1 ), LINK OUT: XLR x 1 Pole Mounts: 2 options - 1 straight and 1 angular socket for mounting at downward angles Dimensions: 280mm (11") x 458mm (18") x 280mm (11") Weight: 13.5kg (29.8lbs) Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost. It is very well built and the packed weight will reflect this so I envisage it will be around £20 to post it. UK only. Priced to reflect the replacement driver and lack of control caps.

I usually blame the drummer when its tuning issues. 😂 TBH i just blame the drummer for everything. Is that not why we have them ? 🤣 Dave

One of my daughters was running the Hackney Half too. She got a PB. Your music must have lifted her to new levels! 😀👍

It’s mainly the scarcity that is pushing the prices up. Obviously the premium graphite necked stuff is going for all the money these days, but the wooden necks with graphite rods are catching up fast. I’m heading down to Kent on Friday to pick up a really nice ‘94 Series-1 wooden through neck instrument. Even that will be up for around £900 if I choose to move it on.
