In answer to the original question, yup, I have signature sound. Gnarly. Any bass into a BDDI/XB Driver, clean power stage, cab(s). Easy.
-
I’m still loving mine and have got a tap switch to change presets. I’d heard it is fussy about power supplies but my gig last night was something else - the venue’s power did not agree with it at all, even with any of my power supplies. It was so noisy I had to take it off my board. My boss and ebs pedals were unaffected. My only other gripe is that it’s easy to accidentally change preset when you press the main switch, would be great if the preset button deactivated when you connect an external tap switch.

If the strings are getting old, do yourself a favour and put a new set on and then intonate. If there is still an issue, check neck relief, string height, pick up height and fret work. I also inspected the nut slot, the string wants to be sitting correctly on the edge of the nut on the fretboard side. If it’s still not right, I would check that the bridge is correctly positioned in terms of scale length.

Norwich and Norfolk Music Scene - Advice Please.
andybassdoyle replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
I’m in Norwich just down the road but agree with les and dood, the scene in the region is pretty good really with lots of opportunities for rock, blues (Dereham blues society is an excellent start I think) and jazz. very happy to chat when you are ready, feel free to pm me -
Excited to build some. At least it should be less faffy than the surface mount DIY mech keyboards I’ve done. Dunno what I’ll do to finish it assuming it works.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
scrumpymike replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
Can't help feeling that the seeds of this myth were sown way back by Fender as an indirect way of rubbishing Gibson's 31"-scale basses and setting Leo's 34" scale as the gold standard. -
Portability was a major factor for me too. I'd imagine you'll be fine with the 112's then. If I get a higher wattage amp any time soon, I'll let you know how they handle it.
-
I defer to @neepheid as the man now in charge. PA and stage is a grey area, depending on the band etc, but if you're buying lighting then it won't be grey any longer but beautifully lit up, so I would allow it. Repairs are allowed, so nothing to declare.
