  1. Past hour
  2. Oops - OEP was another pedal - this one looks to have proper big ones!!
  3. Hi Phil, Can you clarify whether you downloaded an Android playpen to run the mixer app on your desktop, and if so, what did you use? Thanks David
  4. Classic era Scorpions bassist Francis Buchholz has sadly passed away after a battle with cancer: https://blabbermouth.net/news/original-scorpions-bassist-francis-buchholz-dead-at-75 ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜ž Cool guy, cool basslines. Scorpions were never as good once Francis and drummer Herman Rarebell left the band in my view.
  5. Optima strings are brilliant. I got into them about 20 years ago, for the obvious reason. Playing on my Status Buzzard. They're not cheap of course, but I'd recommend them thoroughly and they last very well.
  6. In fairness a replacement Fender Pure Vintage 70s bbot is ยฃ50+ (I discovered much to my annoyance when wanting to restore a 70s reissue to stock). Think this is stainless steel which given the corrosion on a few old bbot I've got isn't a bad idea, and probably it's a bit more rigid. Anyway it has a certain look to it and really we all know aesthetics matter!
  7. To get famous as a YouTube player, you need to slap 100 notes a second with an expression that suggests you've farted and its bad news. The playing should absolutely not sound good. New basses should be attacked with various abrasive tools to scrape off the paint in areas it would never actually wear through use. Joe Dart is mostly about the smug expression. Metal bassists must own every Darkglass product and a fan fret, 5 string, active bass. Jazz bassists now only use BC Rich Warlock basses. Picks are now compulsory.
  8. In the end I decided not to go for dots on the board. Iโ€™m just going to have the Overwater sign maple inlay on the 12th fret.
  9. It's a 14 year old thread but here's where it started: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/darkglass-pedals-are-going-to-be-made-in-the-usa-now.892646/ The relationship didn't pan out - don't know the specifics - but these Built in the USA units are Spencers redesigns. Anyway - great pedal (mine is still on my board). GLWTS!
  10. Me too, otherwise I'd have it GLWTS
  11. Wouldnโ€™t look out of place on stage with Rush and their penchant for washing machines etc on stage. More I see it the more I like it.
  12. FS/T - Amptweaker Tight Rock in good condition with box ยฃ120 posted I wonโ€™t bore you with blurb but suffice it to say itโ€™s a well designed (guitar) pedal.

  13. Great chorus - bargain too. Glwts
  14. This! I am obsessed with this sound! Itโ€™s sounds a great deal like my 76 P bass but more of everything. Iโ€™ve never tried Optima Gold strings before, but hearing comparisons against standard Nickels, itโ€™s exciting stuff.. to my ear anyway. I asked Don what EMG he has on board and he let me know itโ€™s a P-X.. so, guess what I want now!! Literally the sound Iโ€™ve had in my head for years!
  15. Not a band but a keyboard mates Classic Rock show on Roch Valley Radio 8-10 Fri nights. Dave
  16. I don't have a digital caliper to measure it with such exact precision. But I imagine those specifications can be found on the Fodera website.
  17. There's always a solution...
  18. Have to agree on this. I seem to experience the same. I'm still trying to figure out what a tepid pie against a sheet of plexiglass sounds like but i'll work on it ๐Ÿ˜‚ Dave
  19. Let The Good Times (Bog) Roll โ€” The Sonics
  20. No and I doubt it ๐Ÿ‘
  21. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  22. Brand new DR Lo-Rider nickel bass strings, 40-100 gauge. Unopened, uncut. ยฃ25 including postage.
