  3. What's a CAR please?
  4. Apologies the late responses to PMs. I’ve been travelling back from a wedding this weekend. I’ll try to get to the PMs later tonight.
  5. Yep, I went through the same rigmarole on my Mac for a free UA plugin (minus the j: drive) and thought, nah!, Sod it Don;t care if its free, this is too much hassle
  6. I always say the only praise that counts is from fellow musicians. By the same token, criticism from musicians is worth listening to. If you are going to criticise, keep it to one or two clear points. A friend asked me what I thought of his band who supported us the weekend before last. I said basically you were far too loud, especially one guitarist - I couldn't hear your bass. He said "yes, he soundchecks at sensible volume ten turns it up when we start".
  7. I occasionally trawl through the Facebook Musicians available page for our part of the country, and it’s filled with duo’s and solo singers who play along to backing tracks . The big advantage is they can fit into the corner of small pubs / eateries and provide background music /entertainment. Bigger bands need bigger venues , generally come with noisy guitarists /power drummers and generally need to be paid more . Payment over here on the Isle of Wight has always been poor , your lucky if you can get £200 for a gig , so going out as a five piece band does not allow you to quit your day job . Having played in two duos , ( No backing tracks ) the whole gig experience is much easier from accepting bookings ( without wondering if the drummer will turn up ) setting up / breaking down and interaction with the audience. Plus you get a bigger share of the gig money .
  8. Google chrome is also a MIDI-capable browser so if you have that open, that would also cause the editor to not communicate.

  10. Yeah, I kinda of thought about it but don't like messing folks around. I've bought several basses off them before, the most recent being in June. I guess there is no reason why I shouldn't give it a try 🤔However I'd really like to know if someone has played these and whether they're any good?
  11. OMG that is truly something to behold.. Wonderful, quirky, and probably sounds awesome. Congratulations on your superb new baby, enjoy 👏👏👏
  12. They did do a limited edition one a couple of years back that did have the proper Thumb body shape, where the horns were the right length - they should have changed all the bolt-on Thumbs to look like this: My dream Warwick would be a Streamer set up like a Thumb, which they've done. I'd just want a sixer! Sorry for the digression... back to Bongos now.
  13. +1 on the L2 I just personally didn’t like the neck, narrow 38mm nut and quite a deep profile (IMO) I read somewhere Ned made it like that on Stanley Clarke’s advice🤷‍♂️ an absolute design masterpiece, I just sold mine as there’s so many other ‘itch’s to scratch’🤣
  14. Do you know any gangsters? You could shop them and get on a witness protection programme.

    They’re decent basses, nice one
  16. I've had issues with underpowered pedals causing noise over the last few months, the most recent being the CMC Audio Protoype V2, so I bit the bullet and bought a Gen X 8 from Gigrig. It has six 500mA outputs and two 1A outputs so I figured it would solve all those issues. And I was right! Its more compact than if I added a third high current adapter while still providing all the current my board needs.
  17. Boss OC-2 in like new condition (no box) - owes me £150 so will sell for £145 shipped Only listing until store purchased from come back with returns info - works perfectly I’m just going to stick with my 3leaf octabvre.
  18. Looks like it’s going back! Absolutely nothing wrong with it, I actually prefer the tone to my octabvre. That being said, the octabvre is close enough that I’d rather just keep hold of it rather than buy two pedals doing the same job - I’ll stick it on the f/s section until richtone come back with return info
  19. Sounds annoying. A great majority of Plugin manufacturers require a plugin management tool (UA Connect, Softube Central, Slate Digital/SSL etc) and or an iLok account AND some kind of online account and password with the manufacturer’s website. It is bloody ridiculous.
  20. Cali76 (those above are on my wishlist) Great idea. So few musics shops nowadays where you can test these pedals out
  21. I have filled it with milliput black epoxy to re-enforce it and plan to use machine screws and inserts as well. I’m hoping the knot goes off at angle so when I route out the neck pocket, it will not be a problem. Also if I use a short scale neck it will give me a few mm extra clearance as the neck pocket will be smaller. It will certainly be good practice for a lightweight Stingray body that I have been asked to do.
  22. I am going to try and make a walnut control plate and then the option of pickguard or no pickguard
  23. Today
  24. bought a set of pickups from james smooth transaction with no trouble thanks
