Had the same thing with ParcelForce earlier this month, claiming the parcel was larger than it actually was, saying I incurred a £45 additional charge. Unfortunately for them the delivery driver took a photo of the delivery, which showed their claims were incorrect. Took almost 3 weeks to sort, saying the error was with the courier. Yes, themselves! -

Bass Novice started following Cheap fretless bass
-
Hi all. I would like to buy a fretless bass to experiment with. I dont want to spend too much in case I dont get on with them, however I dont want to spend too little and it just be too crap to play. I'm a relative novice as I have only been learning for a couple of years, and my regular bass Is a squier precision. I did buy an ex demo Vintage V74 icon, but when it arrived all the metal parts were rusted (a story for another day!). I have seen these two which look interesting; Markbass MB Yellow PB https://www.thomann.co.uk/markbass_mb_yellow_pb.htm?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1581403900&gbraid=0AAAAADuDMCWeFnO0JQX-rZw4iDNBcTg5Q&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4qHEBhCDARIsALYKFNNynuLZSElFB10R-ixBYhUfJKWLeht3d_Bc9VqD4X7ZRZOjgLskx50aAhD9EALw_wcB Artist Vintage-Hybrid White Fretless Active/Passive Bass Guitar https://www.artistguitars.co.uk/products/artist-vintage-hybrid-white-fretless-active-passsi-14219?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=11342405749&gbraid=0AAAAADdnIO1sjKbdnYhjcH_jb4b9n_b0b&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4qHEBhCDARIsALYKFNNJHjF3xU5vuoDmoltw0uD1u6nSpno6RUVOVTdLK06Z121B88A7Rb4aAuj_EALw_wcB Alternatively do I spend a bit more and get a squier as I like the one I have and this used one seems good; Squier Classic Vibe Fretless Jazz Bass https://richtonemusic.co.uk/squier-classic-vibe-fretless-jazz-bass-sunburst-2nd-hand/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17621730406&gbraid=0AAAAAD_dMP3oKyr_8sRFLv49Q1revZ_Eo&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4qHEBhCDARIsALYKFNOSDE_kJLxLEgqFjzzGz4kWpU9P-DoX1idMaIxcIeL0H6JAwJG0LwEaAj8cEALw_wcB Lastly do I break the bank and get this Marcus Miller V5 Alder-4 TS FL B-Stock https://www.thomann.co.uk/marcus_miller_v5_alder_4_ts_fl_b_stock.htm Any advice, along with any other suggestions are appreciated!

Silky999 started following Hartke LH1000 in metal flight case - £350

It is time to part with my Hartke LH1000 amp as it is just sat gathering dust. It comes in a metal double ended opening flight case so it just lives in there. It is an absolute beast, quite heavy and stupidly loud. Some specs: Dual Parallel Mode: 2 x 225 watts @ 8 ohms, 2 x 320 watts @ 4 ohms, 2 x 545 watts @ 2 ohms Bridge Mode: 1 x 750 watts @ 8 ohms, 1 x 1100 watts @ 4 ohms Classic 12AX7 High Voltage Class-A tube preamp circuit Bass and Treble Shelving, plus mid-peak EQ controls Selectable brite switch for added high frequency response Selectable limiter switch with LED indicator Balance control blends level of A and B outputs Front panel XLR balanced direct output Rear panel 1/4-inch effects loop 1/4-inch plus Speakon output connectors Two-rackspace metal chassis with steel faceplate and handles I think I remember swapping out the valve for a Mullard or something similar. I will also include a spare valve for free as I have some knocking about including some Mullards, etc. I paired this with my GRBASS 410+ cab which I also have for sale separately and would do a deal for both.. Collection from Fleet, Hampshire and you are welcome to try before you pay.

I think any sturdy tripod type stand with a bar would work if you are prepared to do some drilling etc. I will look at the Tonetech filler as well.

This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers

Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK

I have some old Fender screws in the workshop. If Brian can tell us the dimensions, I can see if I have anything.

Probably THE best wireless on the market imo. This one was my main until the + came out and it’s just been my spare which tbh I don’t need. Amazing bit of kit, fully working and comes with new charger cable. No box but will be securely packaged up. U.K. postage included or I’ll be down at Brighton Guitar Show on Sat so can bring it with me.

Listening to equivalent music through those same 'cans' should give your ears/brain the references needed for your own stuff. Put some favourite reference tracks of similar genre into Garageband and compare with your mix. Adjust to get yours to sound as good as your reference tracks to your ears. This technique works whatever one is monitoring with, even if one's own hearing is less than top-notch.
-
Ah thank you, so you happen to know the size? The pin looks the same as the other two. I think I have one somewhere.
-
They sounded really thick and creamy but the tension was a bit too high (for me) on my Precision. Did a full setup when I stuck them on (was going from Dunlop Superbrights so very different) but they highlighted some fret unevenness that wasn’t an issue before and I couldn’t get rid of it. On another bass they’d be great.

Here you go Chris, just a bit bigger than a guard screw

Hohner "The Jack" Restoration
Mediocre Polymath replied to Mediocre Polymath's topic in Build Diaries
Latest step is a much smaller job. I just got some 12 mm and 6 mm dowel, and cut short plugs for each of the unwanted holes. The 12 mm section was for the back, where a bigger wider set of holes had been drilled part-way through, presumably to allow for the fitting of some switches with short bushings. The 6 mm went in the front. Both pieces were fairly tightly fitted so I didn't need to clamp them, though I did put some tape over the lowest one to hold things in place. I trimmed off the excess material with a chisel and sanded it all down. I'll need to put a few dabs of lacquer on there and sand it some more before I spray the body, because otherwise that end-grain is going to show through. -
I guess that’s why some have security on the door now.
