i'm still using a gigantic bassman big bassman for big BASS ACTION, however it is a real pain in the backside to lug around, have to take the front seat out of the car to even fit it and it breaks my spine every time I carry it 20 yards

Years ago, my wife was listening some music and this song cought my attention . We liked it but eventually lost track of it then we noticed Pete Josef was playing a local gig, we decided to go, even though our decision was based solely on a brief, years-old acquaintance with just one song. Getting out is a rare treat for us since we have children, so we took the chance. The concert was phenomenal. Every member of the band was a brilliant musician: the drummer was great, the bass/double bass player top-notch( AND IF YOU ARE A MEMBER HERE GIVE US A SHOUT), and the singer/pianist and guitarist were absolutely impressive. Their performance was a vibrant fusion of jazz, Latin, soul, and dance. While listening to the album didn't move me much, their live performance was truly unbelievable. I highly recommend them! If you are in London on October 26th and free, go see them—they'll make you want to dance , best gig we have been in a while . Btw I'm not on commission for ticket sales but if you go and really enjoy them dm me and I'll send you my PayPal 😂

Thanks for having me. Been playing Bass since 1964. First Bass was a Maton Ibis soon traded on a Fender Jazz ( Black with rosewood board ) new in 1964. I still have one of those, not the '64 but a Professional II and still Black with the Rosewood board. Currently have three basses, the Pro II, an American Ultra II Precision and a Charvel San Dimas Pro Mod PJ 4. Play light jazz, blues, country and rock. Played in 3 or4 piece bands over the years, duos and even orchestra ensembles and entertain myself these days expanding my ability to read Bass Clef.

I didn't take it any further - it didn't feel like a risk I wanted to take with my basses. However, their website tells me that the company has gone from three reviews, to over 17,000 reviews, in 6 months. That's equivalent to around 3,000 reviews per month or 100 per day, every day of the week. So, for all the healthy cynicism displayed by basschatters, 4 people an hour (throughout the day and night) are happy enough with the service to leave a positive review. Dual action rod should have the bullet welded on, earlier G&L basses have a removable truss rod nut and mixed reviews. I would take it to a luthier who knows what they are doing. I have two USA G&L basses - one since 1990, totally solid, the other (circa 2006) decided that the trussrod needed to make a break for freedom. You have the bonus of a rosewood fretboard, if a trussrod replacement is needed it is do-able.
