  2. Completely crap design. DI output should not be affected by the master volume control. Whoever decided that this was acceptable shouldn't be allowed to design any more musical equipment because they are clearly not competent. Like the others I'd suggest a separate DI box with a loop through that you put between the effects send and return, However IME any amp that has the DI out after the master volume control may also have the effects loop in the same (wrong) place. If you can check to see if the effects send is affected by the master volume before shelling out on a DI box that would be sensible.
  3. You lower the tone...
  4. This video explains it pretty well: Note that the above gives two examples of a square wave: the initial pictured one is going from 0 to +Vmax, but to match the sine & sawtooths it should go from -Vmax to +Vmax.
  5. I have a Rumble 100v3 combo and the DI is affected this way, but the larger 200 and 500 versions are not. It’s the only thing I don’t like about it, but as Tim says above a cheap DI box is the solution if you can’t live with it. For how I use mine it’s not a problem.
  6. For sale F bass BN4 of 2022. Perfect condition it comes out of the luthier for complete adjustment, new strings. Supplied with its F cover.

  8. You can get a DI box for £20.
  9. I only had a brief look, but I'm pretty sure the CQ doesn't have traditional, analogue style insert sockets. Agreed on the potential downside of using the Aux Output EQ to do your "de-clanking" - you might be able to make the bass sound better, but as you said you were happy with the tone of everything else in the IEM mix back in your original post, you risk making everything else sound worse in the process. It is however, free and quick to try, so no harm in giving it a go before buying/making a splitter for the inputs.

  11. If you search for a picture of RMS of a sine wave it will show the RMS point at .707 of the clean peak. The RMS of a pure square wave is the full peak value. Power is Current x Voltage. Current is Voltage ÷ Resistance. Substituting for Current we see Power is Voltage squared ÷ Resistance. Noting that 0.707 is 1÷ square root of 2, The power of the square wave is double the RMS power of the clean sine. Trace rating an amp as 250W/500W Peak, maybe a little off the wall as nobody would pay to listen to one putting out the full 500W for more than a few microseconds, could handle mighty transient peaks.

  13. Still getting used to the flats vibe, but I must say I really love the smooth feel and lack of finger screech. Still feels a little hard to judge, with how rough the D is. I don’t recall ever getting a duff string before, but this one feels like someone in the factory was having a bad day, and put a Seafoam Green wrap on a stainless steel round for fun, and packaged it in with 3 flats. It sticks out like a sore thumb from the other strings, and may give me sore fingers to play it. Kind of feels too late to contact the seller (a music shop’s eBay store) especially as I left feedback when they arrived. I suppose I could mention it to them, but I doubt they’d split a pack up to send a single string replacement to me. I’ve had a look and it seems you can’t buy these strings individually, which is a shame. I’d happily send someone a few quid for a single Fender 9050L ‘D’ flatwound string (0.60). . .
  14. Just to be clear the price I am asking is £3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.
  15. It changes the tone …. 🍿
  16. Driving down to Dorset tomorrow morning if anyone interested is en route…
  17. I don't think I've had an amp where the DI output was affected by the volume, that seems like a weird way to build an amp to me. But maybe it's common enough, I don't know...
  18. The Gunners Dream - Pink Floyd
  19. It does sound fantastic! Nice high-mass brass Warwick bridge on it too!
  20. Whereabouts in Warwickshire ?
  21. Yup. I don't know how they get away with that. Surely it's not legal.
  22. Does this case make my amp look big?
  23. Trace Elliot Transit-B.
  24. I’ve sent you a dm
