  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, it’s got my attention! missed that one on my searches, but the older model showed up a few times
  3. This was donated into the charity I volunteer at. It's a 3/4 size model Yamaha...no idea of the year. I was giving some consideration to keeping this as a travel guitar, but no. I've given it a bit of TLC, oiled the neck, given it a decent clean and put on some newish Martin strings put on (which alarmingly, the hi-E - fresh from the pack - has got a bit of rustiness on it!). There are a few small marks on the thing, but it's not had a hard life. It plays nicely enough, very bright tonally. Stays in tune. Padded gig bag, zips all work. I'll happily sell at £100.00 for pickup or £110.00 shipped in the UK - all proceeds will just go back into the charity. I will consider sensible offers, but come on, it's a charity sale!
  4. Brass nut on my 72 jazz fitted many moons ago replaced the broken original. Graphite bridge saddles on that too. Brass nut and bridge saddles on the Aria makes a nice noise. Plastic nut on the Ibanez SR and probably just plastic on the Stingray too.
  5. It would've been 6d in 1965.
  6. That G-K seems a reasonable option, especially as the enclosure isn't ridiculously small. One can't get decent lows from a tiny box for the same reason that basses don't have a 45cm scale length.
  7. Deep in my memory banks I actually knew that. However, it was pretty deep in there. Thanks for the tips. I also need to bring the bridge back from Bannana so will wet it, put it between two pieces of flat board and clamp it hard for a few weeks. I knew that Black and Decker workmate would come in handy eventually.
  8. For sale is my Vanderkley MNT 112 which was bought New from Bass Direct in 2020. 600W RMS and 17kg. The cab is in immaculate condition and always stored in the Roqsolid branded Vanderkley cover. I’ve recently bought the LNT 210 4ohms version, which renders the MNT112 surplus to requirements. Considering the above, this is Sale Only, and not interested in trades. Collection only from BD11 between Bradford and Leeds.
  9. I see people who've bought one and spent money on upgrades and then trying to sell them on for what "it owes them".
  10. Whip in my Valise - Adam and the Ants
  11. As others have said, lots of practise. I was encouraged to sing some lead in my last band and one of the tunes was Bowie’s China Girl. The, “I wander into town…” section is right against the bass line rhythm. There was a lot of trying it at home before playing it live I can tell you.
  12. Still want this but wallet says no 😔
  13. Also - BC advises putting ownership into the pictures (like including a post-it note with your BC handle or something) so the pictures can't be used to rip someone off elsewhere (or on here)
  14. A few pedals for your viewing - Aguilar AGRO - from nice to nasty, vintage warmth to modern clank. £90 posted. Carl Martin Opto-Compressor - awesomely awesome compressor. There's a fullness to the sound with these that is addictive, and no loss of high end. Here's the Ovnilabs review: https://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/reviews/cmclassic.shtml I have two of these for sale: #1 - nearly new, one paint scratch, never gigged, no velcro. £85 posted #2 - not new at all, gigged and velcro'd. £60 posted.
  15. Electro Harmonix Nano Bass Big Muff Pi Price Drop - £40! + P+P Info here: https://www.andertons.co.uk/electro-harmonix-nano-bass-big-muff-pi-fuzz-pedal/
  16. That model GK showed up in the search I sis too.

  18. The thing is I have yet to rehearse with this band, first time I met them was at the venue for the first gig! There are no sheets/charts, so was a character building experience! Seems like they're likely to offer me more gigs (already got a couple booked), in which case a rehearsal so I can try the backing vocals in a less pressured environment doesn't feel too unreasonable!
  19. I don’t have any suggestions beyond what has already been said. Practice is the key. I started singing when I started playing bass but that was a long time ago. I Saw Her Standing There was my first effort. I figured if Paul can do it so can I. I admit he is better than me.
  20. Did you get the manual that comes with the unit? If you did then read the manual carefully. Maybe you bought a faulty unit and it needs to be returned to Ashdown for service.
  21. Well, the PG looks period correct, smooth headed tuners too, pretty difficult to fake, other than that and what with the decal the whole ensemble could be anything. If it plays well and feels good for the right price its probably great....For the wrong price its going to be a mill stone..
  22. absolutely blown away I'll spend more time with it this week. Plug the other cab in and see how do As you say it feels different, it's more dynamic and organic gigs coming up will need Mustang with flats (blues/rock gig) New wave/ ska / mod dep (4003 with rounds) P bass with flats Police gig 50s style P bass with rounds I know its going to smash the new wave gig with the 4003
  23. The Sweetest Taboo - Sade
  24. Then I suppose it comes down to whether you want the baked in T21 version of an Ampeg sound. I like the Paradriver more than the BDDI or the VTDI but as far as I know there aren't any clones of the paradriver. Most BDDI clones seem to be all of the V1 so no mid control. That would be a deal breaker for me. But the new Joyo Tidal Wave appears to be a clone of the V2 and the youtube demos sound good. https://www.joyoaudio.co.uk/bass-effects/joyo-r-30-tidal-wave-bass-guitar-preamp-overdrive-pedal-with-eq-and-noise-reduction-di Needless to say, it's a lot cheaper than a T21.
  25. I have to echo many of @Mark S comments. I, too, had one of these and like Mark was surprised by the versatility and the sound quality of this bass. Do NOT underestimate these...you get REAL bass tones in a compact form. Like Mark, I also have a Jabba short scale but I'd encourage anybody that hasn't tried one of these to do so at the earliest opportunity. GLWTS
