  8. While it's not here yet so technically not my latest pedal - I have an actual OC-2 due to arrive tomorrow after years of trying and testing various clones! Looking forward to removing the -2 control and seeing how the OG stacks up to my Octabvre mini!
  9. Thanks all. Still tinkering until i get get it to my tech. Currently im easily getting the nasally snarl but struggling to get much low end. Ill need to have a play with pup heights etc but feels lovely to play. Maybe the lack of lows is coming from being a habitual P bass/flats player
  10. Guys, let's move off the "sh!t sandwich" debate, it's not my style anyway. I've had a chat with my singer friend. Did a bit of fancy footwork founded on trust and respect. I suggested that I do not get involved with his existing band with a list of "passive" but truthful reasons and resurrected the idea of setting up a separate band. He seems very pleased with this idea. I came up with a band name which he seemed to like. Now looking for band members...usual nonsense looming. 🙄 Thanks for the opinions, quite varied really, some gentle and some brutal. I can take what might work and apply in context Sean's suggestion reminded me of "it's about you not me" which I think works the best in my situation. Gentle souls don't deserve to be kicked, just because the kicker is low on skill. Besides, bands should be fun not a bruising experience, some would say, if it's not fun why do it? A little off topic maybe, I've found if a really caring chap has been though a heavy divorce, lost a child, living with serious long term illness it brings a heavy burden. I don't know if my friend has these (I care not to enquire) but I detect there is something. Be nice, if you can't be nice then f**k off! 😆
  11. Orange O Bass MKII - 2022 Model - Black The Orange O Bass sounds lovely but it gets some shade for the following elements that I have remedied: Neck Dive I installed a high mass bridge. And replaced the machineheads with Resolites. The Neck Dive is virtually non-existent (which the unflattering photo of yours truly will confirm). Playability The set-up was pants when I got this bass. I replaced the nut with a bone version and the strings are set for a much more comfy 41mm type of width. The stock pickup sounded ok but putting in an EMG Geezer Butler pickup really brought his bass to life. The pickup is 4mm closer to where a P Bass pickup normally is located and it creates a fuller yet in-your-face tone that I REALLY love. It comes with an Original O-Bass Gig Bag. I cannot stress how great this bass sounds. I have two O Basses (this was my back-up) and, as I can only use one at time, it seems silly to have it taking up space. Beautifully setup and playable. 3.7 kg And it balances ok with a strap. Collected preferred (I live in East London). Happy to meet up within the confines of the M25 via car. Happy to send it provided that the new owner sorts out the courier.
  12. What would be hard about routing out a cutout with a chisel at the base of the neck ? It would be hidden by the plate and a neat solution to your unlike @HeadlessBassist if you like the bass in every other way it seems a trivial fix
  13. See I used to think they were hideous, and then one day it just switched. Now I have one and wouldn't be without it.
  14. Not too late you can just turn up on the day - 10am onwards
  15. Well, yes and no... If you run Rick-O-Sound then you can control each pickup separately. If you want to play anything Chris Squire, pull the Treble pickup tone and then go "Oh!". The bypass pot is an easy fit which does unlock some variations.
  16. Rics are the best basses money can buy.
  17. Yep it was me off of EBay, I’m in London will think of a day to collect.
  18. He is not wrong. I have owned RA and JTG basses so am commenting from experience.
  19. That finish is 👌👌👌
  20. This perloid scratch-plate is also included (this photo is from before I fitted the current black one):
  21. I found things improved when I stopped trying to post constantly and just shared stuff I actually enjoyed making. People responded better and I felt less burnt out.
  22. Just received a twin pack of 4 string EXL170s from Amazon, £22.99 delivered via Prime / Royal Mail. Seem legit, codes etc so looks like a good deal for £11.50 a set.
