  2. Really enjoyed listening to this last night by The Mighty Threes, I believe they were only around for a few years 78-79 ish and were a trio of Bernard Brown, Carlton Gregory, and Noel “Bunny” Brown from the Chosen Few, they had an album called Africa Shall Stretch Forth Her Hand which is on YouTube and well worth a listen, after a bit of digging it looks like the bass player they used was ,Clinton "Bubbles" Rowe, who I don’t know much about, nice heavy Bassline .
  3. This year I've changed my rig from all Fender Bassman to Ashdown ABM with a LFSYS Monaco which has been a fine upgrade, but the best investment has been to go wireless. The freedom to move around without a cable and to go FoH to have a listen has been a revelation. And that's all I have bought, so therefore the ABM/Monaco must be my worst!
  4. That is simply gorgeous.
  5. I bought that album when it came out and I’ve still got it along with many others , definitely one of the best along with Uprising
  6. According to our singer who created the video, it uses the following: Kling (including lip synch), Vidu, Hailuo and Genmo; Voice for the vocal stripping, AI Face Swap for character consistency. The main character uses the face of one of our fans IIRC. The video was made a year ago so the abilities of the various AI video applications will have moved on since then, and these may not be the best options any more. The resulting clips were edited together in the full version DaVinci Resolve. It took a long time to create, much of it was spent learning how to get the best out of the text prompts, and from what I recall very little of the footage generated at the beginning of the process made it through to the final edit. Also had the time been available he could have spent another month or so fine tuning the edits and getting rid of glitches like the additional fingers, but it had to be finished to coincide with the release of the EP which includes this song.
  7. Oddly enough we were having the exact same discussion in the changing room yesterday. 😂 Dave 🎅
  8. I have contemplated using welded wire mesh, as sold to gardeners. my thought was to use it to protect the speaker but to cover it with fabric. There's a wider range of fabrics available for hi-fi cabs but it's too flimsy to protect your speakers at a gig, a sub layer of mesh could protect the speaker but give you the look of fabric.
  9. What software did you use for that last one (Middle Child Millicent)? I'm happy with the learning curve but can't decide on the software to invest in!!
  10. As above - again - totally recommended!
  11. Now of course the interesting twist would be if AI puts annoying influencers out of business along with youtube musicians, but in so doing makes the world realise how great live music is with real musicians on a real stage (I think there is a Blues Brother quote about this!) - I'd listen to either Danny or Mohini's bands play live anytime, while their youtube antics are a performance of a somewhat lesser type... mind you I suppose still a performance...
  12. As an ex owner, I concur. These are amazing instruments.
  13. Just looked at whether I could print a decent protective mesh. I could have done some clever measurements but I just plonked the speaker on the print plate. Its a fraction too big for a single print. A 300mm x 300mm printer would handle it, and would be easy to design for but I don't have one. Not sure if I want to glue two pieces together either Back to eBay and silly delivery prices, though as I need two grills I suppose that halves the delivery costs. Rob
  14. Your best approach really depends on what sorts of video you want. The OP's description of "photos that then converts it onto a video" is in terms of video output rather vague. I they simply want something that will pan and zoom the static photos then it can probably be done in Powerpoint (Windows) or Keynote (MacOS) which almost everyone with a computer will have. They could even add text for the lyrics. However if you've never done any animation in these programs before there will be a bit of a learning curve, and having never done it myself there may be issues with synchronising the images to the audio. If they want something more as has already been said using a service like Fiverr is by far the most effective way to go in terms of speed and price. My band has used this method for several of our lyric videos which IIRC cost around £20-£30 each. This one uses simple animation: And this one was done completely using stock footage, no AI at all: If the OP definitely wants something that can only be done with AI then be prepared for a steep learning curve. Using AI may seem like simply uploading some images, typing some prompts and sitting back and enjoying the results, but the reality is that it will take time and effort to get something really worthwhile. You'll need to pick your prompts carefully, which is a skill in itself, and as other have already said most AI video is limited to short clips which will then need to be edited together to form a coherent whole. Also if you don't want to spend money you'll need multiple email addresses to benefit from the free trial of each address. And when you come to edit it all together you'll need to grade the clips to make sure that they are have the correct feel to make the complete video look like a whole. If you think you have the time and skills then this is what can be done with AI: This video was completely AI generated, but it took a couple of months worth of work creating all the relevant prompts to achieve the required results, and there are still a few instances where the main character has more fingers than a typical human being. On top of that it uses additional programs to do things like keep the faces of the main characters consistent through the video and the whole thing was put together in a professional video editing application, by someone who has experience with editing music videos. Good luck!
  15. Never On Sunday - The Chordettes
  16. Perhaps for the bass playing... But not for pushing duff products in that annoying influencer way. As for her boyfriend, he can most definitely do as Danny said!
  17. It did for these guys
  18. Today
  19. I like Danny even more now. As an aside, we shouldn't forget that Danny and Mohini are making a shedload of cash out of this spat. I'm not going to begrudge them for that.
  20. Yes really rare. I think they can be counted on one hand… maybe not even all fingers…
  21. Purchased a Thea Gilmore 7CD boxset from @Mickeyboro, smooth and easy deal as usual, great comms and quick delivery John
  22. A beautiful thing. My ideal J bass!
  23. I play fretless and my setup is Bass > Tuner > Octave > Distortion > Chorus > Reverb 1 > Reverb 2 > Compressor > EQ/DI > Amp
  24. Best was the Warwick I always wanted to pair with my equally 90s Trace Elliot stack, and gave me an excuse to try out five strings again (purchased from another forum member). To be fair there is an element of never buying something you have longed for as it doesn't quite live up to expectations (it feels a bit fragile compared to my Stingrays), but I'm enjoying the five strings: Worst was a GP12 head that we still haven't manged to fix despite working through the circuits, and I paid about £50 more than I should have for it... but I'm hopeful we will get there!
  25. I wonder if chicken wire would work? Pros: Cheap, little metal to space ratio, easy to work with. Cons: cheap, might look like crap, would bend easily. Probably better for keeping chickens in than protection. The round speaker grille is great but the delivery is the same price as the grille. 100% delivery costs feels wrong to me for some reason.
  26. Thanks for that ! It does seem pointless with my post having pictures with no text . It looks so straightforward to delete photos with the x in place in the corner. 😮‍💨 Maybe the Moderators could highlight the fact that images cannot be deleted once uploaded 🤔
