NBD: 1995 Stingray + mods reversal + blender strangeness!
Jack replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
Not beyond the realm of possibility I suppose. The blend control will be first in the circuit and have two wires coming out of it going to the pickups. The pickup might be wired per coil and the tech just connected the wires up either without thinking or without caring. -
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. A riff that's heavy by any standards, plus an even heavier riff, all combined with delicate acoustic guitar. And it all fits together as a coherent whole, creating a musical vision of heaven and hell that's arguably the heaviest song ever recorded. Others have tuned lower, played slower or used more distortion but never achieved the sheer force when that song hits. That ability to cast light as well as shade is what sets Sabbath apart from their imitators.

Just got a EBS MB3, need a cheap IR loader for headphone practice.

Ah cool, thanks very much. Will hit buy now. ππ» -
Lovely! I love mine. Long gigs are much easier with that low weight.

Can confirm it's got a regular center negative / common style PSU input as well, that's how I run mine π -

That's lovely, Lozz. I was playing a rather nice Sandberg PM 5-string earlier today - I've never seen the J-type before. Very smart! ππ

Nice one Lozz, that's a fabulous weight and a fine looking bass. By comparison my CIJ P bass, which I thought was light at 7.6 pounds, appears to be a boat anchor, haha!

Thanks. That looks quite cool. Ive not seen that one before. Ali Express has it for Β£22.50 so Iβll take a punt on that. I like the idea of not needing an app for the HPF/LPF, although i also think the app looks quite good. Those are the only control's id need. Iβll order one now. Good call. EDIT: Maybe not, it looks like itβs powered from the computer. is that right? I dont want it connected as a USDB device (other than to load IRβs). Ive had hum/noise and all sorts when ive used other gear like this. for me it has to be a PSU. -

Suggestions for an inexpensive P Bass with a Jazz neck
Norris replied to Minininjarob's topic in Bass Guitars
My Indonesian Squier P-bass Special has a neck like a matchstick. It's still about my favourite bass even though I've moved on to 5-string for the last couple of years. It's a PJ with P body and J neck, circa 2004. I bought it from the BC classifieds many years ago for not a lot at all. I gigged it for many years, preferring it over much more expensive basses -
Stentor Conservatoire. Advice Please π
Burns-bass replied to JazzyJ's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I love this. Respect is earned not demanded. I once took my aluminium double bass with Golden Slaps to a stellar luthier who was fixing a vintage Hawkes bass worth maybe 20 times more. He treated me and the bass with the same respect as the super expensive bass. -

AttitudeCastle replied to dave_bass5's topic in Effects
I just go the MVave IR box for my pocket rig and it's nice solid, easy, has it's own headphone out and can do audio via USB (there's no volume control for the USB which is a faff. but non issue in your case), XLR out and has High pass / Low Pass knobs too. Comes loaded with it's own IR's but they can be replaced via the app. The stock one's I've found "okay" but loaded my own and am having fun. I've not used it but was also recommended the Sonicake IR loader, also has an XLR out and your own IR's can be loaded into the slots. Can be had online for Β£35-40 Both super cheap, I got the Mvave for Β£20 or so. Ordered it and the Mvave Chocolate Plus mini bluetooth midi controller, both together was Β£40 delivered to my door, the future is now! Part of why I went for the Mvave was as I knew I was getting the midi controller and they use the same app etc. - Today

Paul, a chum of mine runs https://www.elitestringworks.com I could see if heβd be interested in coming along to do set ups and other straightforward tech work at the event. We had a friend of Nicks do that some years ago and it went down well.
