  2. That looks a lot of bass for the money. GLWTS
  3. Thanks for replying to a zombie thread. It's much appreciated. Bartolinis have intrigued me for a really long while. And, yes, Freddy Jackson appearing on SBL with his OG 8S really opened my ears to consider Barts. The Classic version (8CBP) would probably be the best fit for me as I do like the option of going bright (especially with some of the gigs I've been doing as of late). I am intrigued by the need to tame the Bart Beast as, on paper, they seem to have a modest DC Reading (9.2k). That said, DC readings are not the real world and there are things like resonant peaks to consider that my thick brain can only just about make sense of. Please tell me more. You had me at smooth and creamy. Do you feel that the 8CBP might be to 'beastly' (for want of a better word) to handle rounds? Also, I am pleased to read that your knee is better. I reckon the Barts had a part to play in your recovery.
  4. If I recall correctly we tried this at a Bass Bash once, same bass and 4ohm amp into the same cabs, both 4 & 8ohm versions. Again from recall no real noticeable volume difference but the 4ohm cab sounded more “alive” in comparison.
  5. Still for sale ?
  6. my first bass back in the day ..

  8. Hi all I'm looking to move on my GT1000 Core as it's not getting any use these days. I bought it used 3 years ago from a guy who had only had it a few days but quickly decided multi effects weren't for him. I added a used FS-7 for a couple of extra ctl switches. It's not left my home since I had as really only used this for recording guitar. Now I'm playing bass in a band again and don't really need the power of this device, I'm moving it on to help fund another bass cab.
  9. love you till i dont - the wildhearts
  10. About as much as moving the volume control 2-3mm I reckon.
  11. Interested to know the difference in actual volume you would hear if you played a 500w class D amp into a 8ohm cab compared to same cab but 4ohms ? If I’m correct the amp would give out roughly half IE 250W and to be twice as loud audibly you would need 2500W which of course is silly for an amp ! I have a MarkBass MB58R 122 8ohm cab rated 800W and if this cab was say a 4ohm cab would it really sound louder even though amp can give it 500w at 4ohms ??
  12. The only single cut bass I've owned and for some unknown reason sold on! I can't say whether the single cut design made it better / worse / different from a standard bass, it was just overall really really good.
  13. Today
  14. Good idea, a few packs of strings and some strapons straps would be cool.
  15. Hi Selling my SL112 Very Good condition and working perfectly Many thanks
  16. I’ve been working on Teen Town by Weather Report mainly just for the challenge, and it’s doing exactly what I hoped.
  17. Oof. That's me told. Its even got a big headline - For those that CBA to read... or just want a quick answer... or dealing with Myth #1 - IEMs are expensive:
  18. Selling my Vintage (brand) V1004DX bass, I've had it for a fair few years now (probably 10 or more!), originally bought as a backup but I actually used it for a few gigs and really enjoyed playing it. It's currently strung with TI flats, and in great condition. It's kept in a smoke-free home, but doesn't have a gig-bag or anything, hence the reasonable asking price. Collection only from near Swindon, in Wiltshire.
  19. Here's my single cut Safran semi acoustic. Lovely bas with an beautifull "woody"and deep sound. It has a piezo in the bridge and a magnetic PU under the fretboard. Just volume and a balance (John East MPM preamp). Due to the singlecut it has an enormous sustain!
  20. I m in Perth- 35 mins from Edinburgh
  21. Now £349 as I sold the second Tung Sol tube separately. Sale now includes just the Tung Sol fitted in the pedal and the original Sovtek tube.
