IEM Conundrum ....... possible solution??
David Morison replied to Pirellithecat's topic in PA set up and use
Sort of. I believe the OP used the term "pan" to refer to a continuously variable blend between 2 sources prior to sending the signal to the transmitter, rather than the more common sense of panning in stereo. The issue with this is that doing it with a hardwired combiner can electrically stress the outputs of the desk, which makes finding a solution based on working with the tone of the input(s) more important. Splitting the bass into 2 channels on the desk is the easiest & most reliable way of doing this, IMO. As @Chienmortbb has confirmed the CQ can't do that internally, a hardwired solution such as This for less than four quid is all it takes, assuming a spare input channel is available. -
Just tried "your" 1025X in The Gallery in Camden and I have to say that tonally I would take that P bass pickup soloed over an actual Fender P bass (I've had a few). Now I'm REALLY curious as to what it has over the 425X 🤔

For sale is my Headrush Gigboard in great condition. It has the latest firmware updates etc and comes with the original power supply. Fully functional and dead easy to use / configure etc. I have a number of my own bass presets stored and I removed the factory (mainly guitar) presets to reduce the need for scrolling etc. I can easily reload the original presets if the new owner would like.....it takes about 2 mins, its that straight forward. Plenty of online videos, help and guidance to review as well. Its really easy to set up and edit using the touch screen to drag & drop effects and IR's together instantly. The interface is super easy to use. There are plenty of amps, cabs, IRs, microphone, and effects options to get the tones you're looking for. You can use your own impulse responses as well as backing up your presets to your PC. The four switches can be configured to switch between rigs, switch on effects, scenes or whatever you prefer. It has a looper too and can be used as audio interface for recording with reamping from the clean signal. Heres a few links: Headrush website Headrush Effects & Controls List Basschat thread I've added some documents for info eg: manual, effects list, preset equivalents - Gigboard-User-Guide-v2_1_2.pdfHeadRush Amps, Cabs, Mics and Effects.pdfHeadrush Models @2019.pdfHeadrush Preset Equivalents.pdf Comes boxed with power supply. As Aberdeen is a long way from most of civilisation, I'll ship to mainland UK at cost using Parcelforce / Royal Mail.

For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

I have just gone through a lot of my studio / PA gear and removed the excess insert and patch cables etc. and have gathered together quite a collection of connectors. Some of the items are brand new never been used but all are in great condition and fully functional. I could be persueded to a bulk buy reduction. Postage would be based on how many and destination. The table below gives as much info on model / style as I know.

1 rack unit is gone so the only one left is the lower one in the photos. For sale is my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack case. The rack is currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U simply by removing some bolts and panels - 10 min job! You can also configure it so the top removes for mixers. The rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 / Board with castors - £20 / Both together £100. Shipping Extra EMS.pdf

Ooof, why would you do this to a Barefaced cab?

It's a five hour drive each way for me, so I think I should just stop thinking about it ! -

The shipping should be moot as I'd want to make sure the buggering wasn't just cosmetic. -
Yeah, backing tracks of us are on an iPad for electric shows. The dual mandocello is lovely and it works well with mandolin too. And bass. We added the guitar to mix it up further, which is funny as it is usually that in reverse. Looking forward to August as we are playing acoustic shows with our original drummer from 35yrs ago.

You might need to add in some lows or/and low-mids but assuming it’s not a really loud band I’d think you’ll be fine.

The auction does offer shipping at a not unreasonable cost, but you'd have to hope they know how to pack a cab for shipping. They clearly didn't look after it during their ownership! It's the old model, with 200w drivers opposed to the more recent 250w drivers. The panel says 4 and 12 ohms, but I can't see how this would be achieved without the switch option of the later versions. Can anyone enlighten me? It would have to be bought for cheap if you were to factor in a factory recover/refinish and regrill. I would expect a nice condition modern Two10 with cover to be around £500-£550 secondhand. @Merton a custom finish couldn't include a coloured baffle and steel grill though, as the cloth front cabs can't be converted. I reckon my best offer couldn't be more than £250, and I doubt they would accept that. Rob -

Hello everyone, Having recently upgraded both my touring and backup boards with Cioks power supplies, this is now surplus to requirements. It has recently been serviced and re-capped, and everything works well. It comes with a useful amount of standard 2.1mm pedal leads in short & long lengths, including the useful Voodoo Labs 18V adaptor lead, and a pair of mounting brackets. Also included, but not photographed, is a brand-new Thomann UK kettle/IEC lead. Everything is in used, but good overall condition, and ready to go to work! EDIT: I'm looking for just £100 for the lot, which includes mainland UK postage. No offers or trades please. Please message me if interested, and thanks for looking! Etienne

greghagger started following Switching From Fingerstyle To Pick
-
If you exclusively play your bass with fingerstyle, you might not know where to start when it comes to pick playing. This is a common issue for bass players, and students often come to me with this problem. They say that when they've tried using a pick, some of the following challenges arise: ❌ Unable to play consistently ❌ Unable to play fast ❌ Not knowing how to hold the pick This is not surprising really if you think back to how difficult it was to play a bass line when you first started bass. It's fine if you started on pick, but if you didn't, you have to develop your picking technique. ✅ Playing pick bass is not as hard as you think though. You just have to add in some pick playing to your practice sessions. I've put together a video tutorial to show you how to get started and to give you some tips and exercises that will help you to become a great pick player. These do work, as this is how I started playing with a pick when I was in the same boat as you, years ago! Now I often use both fingerstyle, and the pick. You’ll find a free download link in the video description. The PDF contains all the lesson exercises in notation and Tab.
